This morning on the fake news (ABC) they showed a story about how Micronesia is disappearing due to the rising seal level from global warming.
One of the politicians from micronesia (who is going to Copenhagen) was telling how graveyards are now underwater, vast farmlands are now flooded, people are starving, how Micronesia will soon cease to exist. Tragic. Yet, I checked the facts. The mean sea level around Micronesia has risen between ZERO AND ONE FOOT OVER THE PAST CENTURY. You wouldn't think that a rise of under 1 foot would wipe out and entire nation and cause widespread starvation, would you? no, of course you wouldn't. That'd be silly. Someone is lying. Someone is going to copenhagen with his hand out, someone waiting in line to get really big checks from our government and others. Someone waiting for OUR TAX DOLLARS! There have been books written by American political "progressives", stating that the reason communism has NEVER worked was because it was only done one country at a time, one region at a time. The people living in communist countries could see how others had it better off and that led to the downfall. According to them, the only way to make communism work is to do it on a global scale. Make every country the same. These authors and their work are well-known by our folks in DC. Make everyone in the world poor, make everyone share the same hardships, make it so the grass is never greener. Take away everything from the prosperous countries (and individuals) and redistribute it so that the prosperous countries are no longer prosperous and the poor countries aren't quite as poor as before. That way no one would look at any other country and see it doing better. Get rid of first, second, and third world countries and make them all third world. Get rid of the upper class, the middle class, and the lower class and make them all lower class. Except for the ruling class of course, they'll still be wealthy beyond imagination. It might take a generation or two to get rid of the memories of how good it used to be, and they'll have to get rid of all the free-market propeganda and books. And private businesses. they'd all have to go. Sound familiar? It should. |

The "vast majority" watches CNN, ABC, CBS or NBC and thinks that they are getting the news and the truth, which they are not.

It is both sad and laughable. Last year I took a few months and buried my head in the sand. I just didn't want to hear it anymore. I was tired of the bailouts, GW, real estate crash, etc. Ignorance is bliss. I do find comfort in the fact that many of you feel the same.

more comfort ... Global Warming Petition Project
Just because the political "green" crowd jet-sets around, holds week-long high-exposure 'conferences' does not make their goals (of massive taxation) worthy. The Al Gore types pay the peon 'scientists,' who will play for team Gore, a pittance, as the grand-plan is spun-up. (it's BIG business - bigger than Enron)

Per one of the news stations, the American people's belief in "climate change" has never been lower. At least some of our fellow countrymen have some sense. Now if we could just do something about our leadership.....

Believe me, some of us are working on it. Three of them need to go in the worst way but frankly I am in the mood to vote every incumbent out of office next fall and start over again.

Honestly, I'm equally afraid of rank amateurs running everything as I am of professionals. Both have MAJOR downsides. We know the downsides to the pros. What about the amateurs? Can you imagine a government taking radically different directions after every election? The pros do bring some stability to things. (Even if it means institutionalizing some evils.) Change is gradual--even if gradually in the wrong direction. A total lack of stability would destroy small business. Think Brazil.

What we need is gridlock.
With gridlock the politicians do their thing, make lots of wind but nothing get done. Everyone can go about their life laugh about the silly politicians at dinner. Now that they are trying to actually do something we start to see how scary this could be(is). Oh, for the good old days. |

The term limit legislation is being done wrong.
Two terms then you never serve in any state or govt post again. You go home and get a job. Right now its worded so that you can do two terms in one office, then shift sideways and go to another office. Feeding off of the taxpayers money the rest of your life. Its needs to be TWO TERMS PERIOD then you are done!
