I think Futuresoptions was describing what he would have done, and it's probably what I would have done as well, which might have ended up with the bad guy leaving but also might have ended up with bad guy dead. I just don't think his scenario is realistic for a woman home alone.

For God's sake listen to you Monday morning quaterbacks sitting behind your computers with a glass of pinot noir and your slippers talking about how you would react to an intruder breaking into your house. "I would do xxxx", or "I would most certainly not do xxxx". I guess you've played out your little "burglar" scenario many times in your head and this woman's version doesn't fit so nicely into that mold, huh?

It's 1 o'clock in the morning, you're a woman and you're alone and suddenly you are taken to that most dark of places that we all hope we never have to go to and you have the gall to second-guess this woman's response? How dare you.

I'm armed to the teeth and extremely handy with my weapons and I hope I never have to experience what this lady did. She is a warrior and a hero and she has my respect.
