Well, my story goes way back, but it wasn't me who got screwed by MM, but the guy who out bid me on a 72 911 project, with factory RSR flares and bumpers and a core engine with all new factory parts to build a 2.8 RS spec engine... The guy who ended up with with it, took it to a reputable local shop, who confirmed what everything was and gave him the est to build it. They agreed on a price, and the guy left the engine & parts, the tech was going to start building in a few weeks after he finished other builds.. A week goes buy, and the guy shows up at the shop, wants them to crate it up & ship it to..... you guessed it MM....
When the engine came back, new parts were used parts, not even RS spec, rattle canned tin, ect, plus it took some work it get it running:eek:
I got both sides of the story, it matched was there when the engine came back (he paid the shop to install, and after they opened the crate, they called the owner & wouldn't remove it until he was there to see) and in the end, not only did it take longer, it cost more to fix the screw up that it would have cost just to let them build it... That was back in the late 80s...
