FO: I don't know what the Army did with it's old M-21s. The thought that mine might have been destroyed is a truly depressing one though. :-/

Yeah, God bless the 1903 Springfield and the Garrand, but seriously, how hard would it be for them to reconfigure the auto M-14's into M1A's and the M-16's into Ar-15's, I think that they may have ulterior motives in the destruction of the newer rifles... just my .02.....

You could simply change the trigger group on any of those weapons to make them semi-auto.

My point exactly, it is not like they haven't earned their place in history like the Springfield and the Garand....
