Ice Cream Makers

I'm tired of the rock salt/ice type makers. I want to simply add the ingredients and flip the switch. Any experiences, opinions??

Received this Cuisinart model as a Wedding Present:

ICE-20 - Automatic Frozen Yogurt-Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker - Ice Cream / Yogurt Makers - Products - Cuisinart.com

Works well, small batches, I've experimented a bit with flavors, but you need to stick with the ratios in the instructions, except instead of two cups cream, I do one cup cream and one cup half and half. I use only good organic milk and sugar, much better than any store bought ice cream.

My dad has one of the old ice/rock salt kind and it also works well if you don't mind the mess and cranking it yourself. Many people say they do make the best ice cream.

I Have one of those Ill Gelato by SIMAC things ...the unit contains its own freezer so allya do is flip da switch and set de timer....it only makes about 2 quarts and the stainless bowl does not come out....However it does make some nice fresh ice cream, ices and Sorbets...

I bought the thing used for $100...

I store the bowl in the freezer in a plastic bag and take it out when I'm ready to make a batch.
