Looks like a fun car. Best part would be whooping up on all the guys in old 911s.

It had yellow calipers; are those still indicators of the ceramic brakes? It might be interesting to see what the tuners will accomplish with the engine if it does turn out to be true.

Will a non-flat engine fit in a Boxster?

A four cylinder Boxster....no thanks. How long before we see Audi V6 powered 911's? And so it begins.

They are all "VW-Porsche" now. Guess we'd better get used to it.

As an entry model, this could be great for the brand. It may also be good for the guys who like to tinker. If they put a simple coil over setup (low cost and we can upgrade more easily) on it and offer LSD I'd buy one. Pump up the engine some more (think aftermarket turbo unit and remap) and you'll have a killer.

I've been saying for years that the Boxster is going to be the new 944. This is the reincarnation of the 951 in some respects. It will blow the crap out of the venerable 911 in every way, only to be dumbed down by Porsche's marketing idiots, whereupon there will be a huge tuner market created.

I'm looking forward to it. I'll definitely be getting one at some point if this car becomes reality. Count on it.

Gawd you guys are fuddy duddys.

The VW/Audi turbo 4s are GREAT engines. Tons of fun. It will likely be more reliable than the current power plants. Also much easier and cheaper to upgrade as well.

Don't be such a bunch of grumps.

+1

Porsche needs a car that can be cheaply tuned to capture the younger generations attention.
