Help Me Name My New Book

Okay, so I recently received the first sales report for my second book, "Old Ghosts of New England," and the results were impressive - a lot better than expected, actually. I now feel completely justified in pitching a follow-up volume to the publisher.

"Old Ghosts" was a travel guide to (supposedly) haunted places in the New England states; the logical next step would be a similar book about a different region. I am thinking I might want to do a travel guide to the New York-New Jersey-Pennsylvania region - I think such a book would sell well.

My only hang-up right now is coming up with a title. "Old Ghosts of New England" came pretty naturally - the states-in-question had a pretty widely-used name (New England), and the Old/New balances out nicely. I would like to use a similar title for the new book, but this New York-New Jersey-Pennsylvania region doesn't have the same kind of catchall name as New England.

So, I'm open to suggestions: "Old Ghosts of the New World" seems a little too broad, "Old Ghosts of New Amsterdam (or York or Jersey)" seems too narrow. I don't have to use the "Old Ghosts..." lead-in, but I do like it. I'm totally open to suggestions here.

If any of you DO, in fact, help me out here, you would obviously get a "thank you" on the acknowledgements page. A slight reward, I know, but at least it's something...

"Old Ghosts" looked like a very good book. I didn't read through the whole thing but I read a few of the stories in the autographed copy I got from CJ for my scoutmaster that grew up in that area.

I think continuing the "Old Ghosts" is a good idea, to tie into the success of the first book.

How about "Old Ghosts of the Eastern Seaboard"

or "Old Ghosts of the Northeast" maybe flows better.

sorry I can't help. I don't believe in ghosts.

Good luck with your book(s) though, that's great news!

I like the gone south sound though;
perhaps "Old Ghosts, Southern Version"

Cheers!

SO CJ, have you seen/experienced any 'other-worldly' things?

I think you should stick with (and copyright) the "old ghosts" motif. How about "Old Ghosts of the Mid-Atlantic?"
