hmm.... Went to update the firmware on the router and the download from Belkin is a .BIN file and 0bytes.... It fails.... Imagine that... Retried it several times....
Started watching today and my connection speed is like tumbling... It seems to be holding steady at 48.0 Mbps but I have seen it go as low as 2.... It has held at 11 several times... Its usually up around 54 though.... |

Hmm.... Was just noticing that my room mate had set a few old de-militarized grenades on the shelf beside the router.... moved those... Instant jump to 54.0mbps Still getting interference on my music stream though....

How long has this been going on? Your card appears to be Broadcom based. I know a lot of Mac people with specific Broadcom cards are having the same issue, including me. Mine started doing this a few months ago. I'm beginning to think it's a Broadcom driver issue.

I'm going to see if I can backdate my wireless card before release 10.5.2 (Mac) and see what happens. My buddy has an iMac with an Atheras card and he has no issues. The Broadcom card issue is well known in the Mac world. I really think there is an issue with their cards and some specific firmware version revealed it.

I was looking on Newegg and I wasn't finding any direct replacement internal cards.... There is a Belkin N+ for 14.99 that slides in the port.... But I don't like junk hanging out the side....

Getting a new card may not solve the issue. My dad has been having issues and we bought a new card after trying new drivers.... Same problem still.
If I had a spare laptop drive, I might consider reinstalling the OS and seeing if it is SW. |
