I love my 928, but a 2007 997 is also a wonderful machine. Sure, it's kind of ugly, but it's still a tremendous machine. :)

I'll never be a member of the PCA because of the idiotic pretention that I was shown at the one club meeting that I attended in Orlando in 1999. Snipers' experience is the same as mine. After I bought my car, a bunch of pretentious posers looked down their noses at me when I tried to wave [motorcycle style] back then. I quit after a few months-

I just don't get it. I recently told another member of this board via PM that I will never ever understand the human race. I didn't understand the kids in kindergarten, and now 39 years later I still don't understand people.

I'm actually kind of proud of that fact.

FWIW, the last time I drove the old S, I got a thumbs up and a smile from a guy in a new waterpumper turbo..

Back to the OP, I always give and get a wave with the owners of 993's and earlier - 997's are hit and miss, and Portland is a really friendly place, so the overall assessment, that 996 - 997 owners CAN BE poseurs is probably apt.

ya know i try and wave to any porschen i see. i have stopped for a few along the side of the road when they needed help. what the hell. but what does piss me off is somejuan being condescending to me. i have to deal with that crap quite often with "PILOTS" ya know the ones with more money than 3 gods and NO BRAINS!



and then they come in with their gear up..............or run out of fuel..............or "accidently" pull throttle or was it mixture? and run off taxiway into dezert! and numerous other faux pas.


and thats when i get my PAYBACK...................when i take their picture and zap it within 15 minutes of their faux pas to the local newspaper and they make the front page.


we are fortunate here with our local PCA that really i havent run into any ubersnobs yet.

the sad thing is, most of the pilots i know are Foxtrot Tangos.
