Who here like Salsa? (the FOOD, not the music)
My girlfriend makes an awesome salsa. Way better than anything I've ever bought from the store. She says "ehh, it's OK"
I've been telling her she should jar it and sell it. Said if she could make a large batch of it, we should send out some small samples and get some feedback. Anyone here like Salsa and would liek to try some if I can get her to make a bunch? Thinkign about getting her to make some to take to Autocross next weekend to give out...

I have been looking for a good salsa recipe.
I'll save her some work and she can just send me the recipe and I can make my own. ![]()

I would be pleased with either the recipe (unless she'd then have to kill me) or a sample.

I like salsa, but I'm afraid y'all might find my taste pretty pedestrian. Good salsa to me is fairly fine texture, somewhat soupy (I always drip on the table) and spicy. Some commercial salsas are good, although my wife makes a very nice fresh version. I don't like the ketchup-based versions in the grocery store jars - although Tostitos Restaurant Style is OK.

Love it!!
All kinds. With black beans, corn, fruit, avocado, peppers, roasted or not. Never gets old. It's good over cottage cheese. KT

Just had a friend of mine send me salsa from halfway across the country. Love it, eat it all the time, its the spice of life.
If she has a good recipe then go for it!

Canned or jarred salsa cannot compare to fresh salsa. Why? Canned/jarred salsa needs to be cooked in order to have a longer shelf life. Cooking salsa kills its fresh flavor.
My wife and I have made fresh salsa from time to time -- and even cutting up tomatoes, onions, and peppers and adding some 'spice in a bag' is worlds better than the canned stuff. Hmm - now I'm hungry! -Z-man.

I don't know what all is it it aside from tomato, but I can hardly put it down. It's got some kick, but it's not overpowering. Excellent taste, not too watery, but not too thick. I do know there's habanjero...

El Paso Chile Company. Snakebite salsa. Not really crazy hot, but the best salsa I've ever tasted in a jar. Hard to find.

Hey,
I am in on this. I love salsa. Not an expert but a simple enthusiast. On a side note, my mother's cousin lived in S. Oregon and apparently made considerable $$$ selling salsa until his hippy / marxist values caused him to sell out or quit. Thanks, Larry |
