Daisy BB rifle

I notice that alot of you are gun experts. i am not.

a buddy of mine gave my son his old daisy BB gun. He has 2 girls and they had no interest in it.

Bryce thinks its the coolest thing ever.

Are there any special tips for caring for it. The safety is stuck and wont lock and unlock.

Input is greatly appreciated

Are there any obvious oil holes? I had a Crosman and remember having to oil it in certain places. I also remember digging it out of my parents closet years later and noticed the seals had dried and it no longer held air....

Looks like the Daisy you have may have been recalled years ago... Over the safety... Looks like people were unhappy that it was a manual safety...

Keep it lubed up (I use Gibbs Lubricant and Militec-1) so it doesn't rust. Lube the seals/piston and teach your boy safe gun handling. Great!

IIRC, those really make a pellet fly. Not a toy, gun safety is in order.

I had one that looked a lot like that. It was a great little gun. I also had an issue after many years of it not holding air. I was able to take it apart and get it working again pretty easily.

I can't see this from work, but this appears to be an owners manual

Still have my Crossman 760 from when I was a kid..... It must be over 30 years old and still works great. I also have a Daisy similar to the one pictured above that was my wife's first husband's and is probably the same vintage. It needs some TLC as it will not develop any power (probably just needs a good oiling).

No info on the gun, but...

May I suggest some shooting glasses, so he doesn't put his eye out?

To pose for a picture??

Too late - OMG, look at that hideous wound just above his right thumb.

A little oil left to soak into the safety overnight might free it up. If not, these things are pretty easy to disassemble so you can see what's going on inside.

i had a 760 i think. i was so young and small, that i had to grab that thing with my legs to pump it up. i was an idiot kid too. i think it maxed at 10 pumps. if 10 was good, 12 must be better!! that thing survived my hell. my brother still has it.

i broke so many laws with that thing. if i have kids, no way i let them run around unsupervised. i took mine apart when i was a kid. i remember running some spring thru my brother's thumb.

you guys are hysterical

he does have the look of a little maniac with it

everytime he is handling it we review safety and i add that he better be carefull else he shoots his eye out

makes me think of that movie and i start laughing

cause i laugh i wonder if its sinking in

the funniest thing is that he has preety good aim

consistently aims a little high and left

must be the way he lines up the site

I love guns, but I've also removed several BB's from inside the eyeball. It's always an accident and a tragedy- but never turns out well.

I found a complaint against Daisy on that 881 model. They claim it has a manufacturing defect that has resulted in injury. It might be worth looking over.

Daisy Manufacturing Co; Complaint

I also had an 881 and a 760 when I was a kid, good guns...
