Braveheart - finally saw it...
Oh man, what a movie. What a story. We need more types like William Wallace in this world!

They are out there, just do not look anywhere near Washington DC for one.

Great flick. You're a little behind on the times.
![]() Speaking of good older movies, I watched Goodfellas last night on AMC. I had forgotten how much fun a good mobster movie could be.

It's on my list - I've never seen it either, yet.

P-O-P has never seen it, yet. Well then, Mr. Brewer, let us know what you think when you finally don't see it. If you have never seen it yet, you have no idea what you haven't seen yet! But when you do see it, you'll be startled. I was. Warfare the old-fashioned way.

Wallace wasn't a poor peasant as portrayed in the movie, he was a displaced nobleman (displaced by the English conquest of Scotland) and in contention for the Scottish throne.

I have seen it a few times and still like it. Tough ending.

Braveheart is definitely in my 10 ten all time movies. When it came out the graphic violence was over the top - IMO. I recall saying to myself at the ending scene "If they graphically show that... I'm outta here". I got no love for Mel but I admit he did a phenomenal job with this movie.

Yeah, Braveheart was violent. But Gibson's Apocalypto was more violent, IMO. I mean, seeing a Mayan sacrifice...from the point of view of the person being sacrificed...

I have to see Apocalypto again. I couldn't understand the point of that movie as well as I did w/ Braveheart. Plus, I've seen Braveheart a few times. Better each time.

I agree. The point of Apocalypto was a little muddled. Maybe it was Gibson's attempt to show the violence and superstition of the Mayan culture. If anything, it was a great cats chasing a mouse story. Very violent, though. There's a scene with a panther that was a bit too much to take.

Apocyalypto was brilliant. Not muddled at all IMO.

When the movie was released, Billy Connolly was quoted as saying..."I was the only Scotsman who didn't get a part!"
