no f-ck that stuff

The sleepers they peddle now are all pretty similar, I know too many people who have had bad experiences, Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata. Even if you sleep, you had best not take them for more than a few days. Does something to your REM sleep as I understand it.

Humans run on a diurnal cycle. In English, this means when it is light, your brain says wake up. To set your internal clock, you have a bright light on your face. For example, if you are going to Israel, and it is like 14 hours different, you can set your clock to Tel Aviv the day before you go, and you will be less jet lagged when you get there, same thing coming home.

+1 to the melatonin and not sleeping in the daytime. If you are tired, go walk around the block, do calisthenics, whatever. If you can, exercise in the morning, if you exercise too much at night it revs the old motor and takes more time to sleep. Watch your caffeine, avoid it late in day.

Thats why you should try melatonin. Its what your body produces naturally to make you tired and regulate your circadian rythym. I don't think its habit forming either. I take it as needed and its great.

You're sleeping too damn much. I get up every morning at 4 thanks to the project I'm working on. Wake at 4, work 5-5, go to bed at 9:30-10. I'm so damn tired I don't even think about pressing issues, I just crash. Speaking of which, why in the hell am I on here talking to you a-holes?:p

Insomnia is serious and can be a sign that something is wrong. My 7 year insomnia experience was caused by elevated liver enzymes and liver disease. Once I got the liver disease and enzymes under control, my insomnia stopped. I'm not saying this to scare you, but insomnia can be very serious as it may be your body's way of telling you something is wrong. Get a good physical, lab work, etc... and follow-up on this!
