Edumacate me on M14/M1A stock upgrades
So I have a semi-auto M14/M1A. The Stock, while it looks like, it is not properly fitted to the rifle. It rattles.
So, I need to get it properly glassed in and fixed to the rifle. Is this something I can do myself? I asked a gunsmith about this and the price was in the $200+ region. And then there is the "upgrade" option. Instead of keeping the wood furniture, I can replace it with black plastic and make an evil zombie rifle. I like the idea of this, since I can put upper and lower rails on the rifle. I would love for the rifle to have an intergral flipout bipod. From a "do it yourself" standpoint, which way would be easier? Are the plastic parts "drop on", in that no glassing/fitting is required?

go to mcmillian.com look at scratch and dents. you never know when they will show up or what color. or.......................
buy a mcmillian USMC woodland camo one and be done with it. you can send it to them or i would get a prominent(like reknown) m-14 gunsmith to bed it for you CORRECTLY! why mcmillian????????????? CUZ YER SMART! wood sucks period. hot/cold/dry/wet swells the wood, pushes on barrel and changes yer ZERO! end of subject. class is dismissed. or go to fultonarmory.com and look at SAGE stocks. but they add weight with all the rail crap. |
