Yippee!!! No more child support

My employer received the notice today to "immediately terminate the withholding of the obligor's income". I love my Son but now I can choose to help him rather than have my money taken from me and deposited into his Mother's account. (I am not saying the money did not make it to him)

That is great news, I remember when that was one of my greatest days.
That is when I finally was able to start living a normal life again.
Everything came together after that.
Congratulations,
Crow

Moses - my son is 18 and graduated early. Divorce decree was until 18 and graduated or discontinued his high school education.

I get it too. It was one of the best days of my life. But of course it never ends. You just get to give it directly to them instead of the ex buying a flat screen.

I mean granted, my kids used the tv too, but it always just rubs you the wrong way when the ex has all the toys and you're living in yer car.

Mine is over in August along with the negotiated spousal support. I can't wait. When my daughter was in high school it was over half my take home pay. The ex had it good, there is no way she was using even half of it for the kids. It was based on them living with her 70% but they were always with me half the time. I still pay some stuff directly and she sometimes reimburses me. I don't want them to hear any of our issues with money and think it's their fault so I've never *****ed to anyone but myself. I can't wait to not be making her Benz payments anymore. Congrats!

Did you see the episode in Two and Half Men where Charlie makes the "big check" for Alan's last alimony payment?

i know a policeman that is living on the edge of poverty. he lives in an apartment where he is on call 24/7, in exchange for cheap rent. he gets milked viciously for child support. here is the rub. the EX married a real estate tycoon. millionaire. the new husband even asked his new wife to give "ed" a break. she said, no, it was the principle. the ex met her new husband at a real estate convention, came home and asked for a divorce. i swear, i hope there is a HELL.

new hubby and family are moving to LA...ed is bummed, and will move to be with his kids. i dont know how he will afford it. the new husband is willing to give him a free apartment. kids like the rich lifestyle, and ed is getting left out of the picture. sucks.

Have 2 step sisters. Lived with their mom. The older moved in with us after her mom started to date sis ex boyfriend.

My mom gets a call one day from SS's grandmother who proceeds to trash my step dad for being such a crappy father all those years and never sending the support checks and how it's unfair that the grandparents have always had to step up etc..etc... Now youngest SS may not get to graduate her private school cause grandparents can't afford last semesters tuition.

My mom says "Lady, you're barking up the wrong tree. I know because I am the one that writes the check every month and it's always written for more than the ordered amount because that's the way their father wants it." Mom sent the grandma a copy of every cancelled check.

Ex wife had been collecting from my step dad then going to her parents crying that he was not contributing.

Why do I have the feeling it would be cheaper for me if I ONLY had to pay child support?

It's almost the end of the month. Need to ask the ex when she is giving ME the check. Yeah sometimes the guy does win.

I dont kill her with it. We settled our divorce with out an attorney. Just had one file the paper. I rememeber my dad ***** every month he had to write a check to my mom for my sister. Never wanted to make my son live through that.

HOOT! A friend's ex wife got very pissed when he stopped paying the mandated child support into her account. Yeah, he still supported the kids, paid for college on both...but he sent the $ directly to them.
