Damn, this and schumi's little bleeding incident..... Makes you think about where you are going to be stumbling around drunk....

Ummmm not good, in fact I feeling like cying - for you. Even this far away it hurts LOL.

Don't see the doc. On a ski trip the boots I'd been wearing were too small and my toe nail was bouncing against the end of the boot. This didn't really worry me but the nail turned black, which was kinda cool I guess, but then it went smelly. Oh yes really smelly like a rat had died under it. I saw the doc and he ripped it off with a pair of pliers. Now that really hurt. I didn't know I could speak Japanese fluently until then. Anyway it grew back in time.

Way too early in the AM to be seeing and thinking about this stuff! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/pukeface.gif

Yeah, keep it clean is the course. It should grow back ok.

I am hurting guys. For some reason decided I should be good to go to work. Work in a lab, so flip flops are out of the questio. I have to find a way to air this thing out. Don't want to it to be covered all the time. Did I mention this hurts. Even the weight of a blanket was unberable.

PAIN!

TSNAPCRACKLEPOP 03-01-2010 08:56 AM

wow, you will save hundreds on nail polish over your lifetime. Rip the rest of them off for more savings.

Dude, you're young, that's why you didn't anticipate.... This is part of the learning process.

I'd be worried about keeping it in a shoe with the warm dark environment and all of the crap that lives on feet and in shoes.

I'm a runner. Did a 12k last May and after the race, my second toe on my left foot felt weird. Kinda numb and it was slighty darker than it's neighbors. 4 days later the whole came off in it's entirety. Zero pain and was very strange. Months later it came back perfect and have no issues. I had a pedicure before I ran the Phx PF Changs half marathon and my toes were fine. I've seen stickers that say "Toenails are for sissies". Lots of my runner firends have tons of stories of losing nails at various times.

Yours was, of course, WAY WORSE! OUCH!!
And I don't think you need a Dr. Keep it very clean and apply Neosporin and let it air out. In a week you'll feel a ton better.

Keep us up to date! Best wishes, bro!

I dropped a FLOOR JACK on my right big toe! (buddy's jack, he didn't fasten the handle to the jack. I picked it up by the handle)

I was at Streets of Willow Springs for a DE weekend.

I found a large box to put under the bed sheets to keep the sheet off of my foot.
I sleep like that for about a month.

I drove Streets of willow in my mustang, syncro shifting up and down shifts and left foot braking.

Tony Adamowicz was one of the instructors. During the classroom session he asked me why I could drive smoothly on Saturday but Sunday I was kinda "choppy"

I told him that I had smashed the bejebuss out of my toe and how I was driving.

He smiled and explained to the class what I was doing an applauded me!

Toe injuries suck big time!! I dropped a Torqueflite tranny off a workbench onto my foot. Crushed the three small toes of my left foot. Up there in the top 5 worst pains Ive ever felt.

red-beard 03-01-2010 10:01 AM

I was at my parents house last night and I mentioned this issue. Mom comes out and says "Don't you remember I ran the King Size bed over your big toe when you were eight, and the nail came off?"

Actually I don't remember it. I don't want to either. Thank god for small favors.

She tells me she felt really guilty about it, at the time.

HelmetHead 03-01-2010 10:23 AM

Ouchers Tom! No wonder you didn't hobble over for a beer while I was finishing my engine!

same thing happened to me wearing open toe sandles at a bar... It felt real nice the next day:eek:

71T Targa 03-01-2010 10:37 AM

I took my thumb nail off with a belt sander. It took a while, but it grew back just fine.

Superman 03-01-2010 11:22 AM

I wonder how many toenails "johnco" has left.

ben parrish 03-01-2010 12:49 PM

Slammed my finger in a door when I was a kid...the nail popped off.. grew back fine. That does look awfully painful..feel for ya.

pavulon 03-01-2010 02:46 PM

Paper cut? Pffft.;)

nynor 03-01-2010 06:19 PM

keep it clean and dry. you don't have diabetes do you?

red-beard 03-01-2010 06:25 PM

Tell me that is antibiotic cream and not infection. If that is an infection, do not pass go, go straight to an urgent care for cleaning and anti-biotics.

red-beard 03-01-2010 06:27 PM

And the phrase is "HOLY SNNIKEEEYS"!
