ouch!

Here is my blood for the weekend. This is the most painful thing that has ever happened to me.

HOLY!!!! some warning would have been nice!! ;)

what did you do? punt the kitchen table leg?

BRPORSCHE 02-28-2010 12:28 PM

Got in a fight with a bathroom door. lol. It was just awful timing. I was walking out of the barefoot as someone was going in. If alcohol wasn't involved I would of fainted. Worse thing is though that the door didn't come fully off. It was stuck at 90 degress. That was the worse having to rip it off.

Here is the nail.

Jeez man, ouch!!!

widgeon13 02-28-2010 01:02 PM

The picture of the nail seems more painful than the toe itself, hope you are feeling better soon!

KevinP73 02-28-2010 01:08 PM

You're gonna be getting a reminder of that injury with every step you take for a while.

Done that with a finger, but they sewed it back on...Stitches through a nail are not nice.

That looks bad Tom. Keep it covered and keep the pain killer going

BRPORSCHE 02-28-2010 01:32 PM

I am thinking I need to go to the doc. I don't know what they would do for me though. I am worried about the new nail growing wrong. Never done this before.

Stitches through a nail, why not just used roofing nails, ouch for sure!

Crowbob 02-28-2010 01:38 PM

I did the same thing a couple years ago. I was going down steps in an unfamilair house in the midle of the night and caught the bottom step with my heel, ankle flexed forward and bent the nail back almost completely off. Didn't know it at the time, thought I sprained my big toe. I was wearing heavy socks and went back to bed. Next morning, squish squish. Uh oh.

I'm thinking you need to send Tobra a PM and get a recommendation for a Dr. in Houston. He used to be a Dr. in the area here and he must know some good docs he would trust. And he can make a call, to get you an early appointment.

You aren't going to die. And even if you do everything right, the nail still will probably not grow back in correctly. My right hand ring finger nail hasn't been right since I was 12.

syncroid 02-28-2010 02:09 PM

Dude! Ouch is right! I have smashed my big toe nails and thumb nails before but never had one ripped off. I bet it feels like your nerve endings are spread out a foot away from your toe.

vash 02-28-2010 02:25 PM

SOB, why did i revisit this!! that nail pic is brutal!!

go to the doc. it needs to be cleaned at the least!!

herr_oberst 02-28-2010 03:15 PM

I've done that. Slipped on river rocks, toenail caught, bent back. I taped it down, hoping it would fall off, after about 10 days, still hanging on by a thread, so I grabbed some pliers and yanked it off. (The toenail, not the toe!) Hurt like holy freaking hell, and bled for more than an hour. Yep, that was something special, and BRPorsche, I feel for ya, brother.:(

nynor 02-28-2010 03:53 PM

a doctor for that? just keep it clean.

Super_Dave_D 02-28-2010 04:14 PM

F'ing A right!

That actually looks better than the guy I saw today, that I did surgery on yesterday. Y'all REALLY don't want to see that sheeit, it doesn't smell rotten anymore though, half a foot is better than none. If only the MFer would quit smoking and walking around on it for a few days.

Tom, you have a PM, too bad old man winter is kicking hell out of Tejas, you are fixin' to be in sandals a bit.

Liable to have problem with ingrown nail in a few months
