Cat Repellant

What can I use around the Porsche to keep cats away?

My cats are scratching the poo out of it. One of them, in particular, likes to sleep in the car. The car is now garaged, windows up, and even covered. Cats will still try to wriggle under the cover to look for an open window to explore.

With indoor/outdoor cats like we have, it's not practical to guarantee that no feline will ever be in the presence of the car at all times. C'mon, you've got to open the garage to get the DDs in and out. The last straw was today; while I was working on the passenger side of the car, the cat clawed his way up the driver's side door to sneak in the open window. Why the fat@ss couldn't jump 3 feet into the open window, I don't understand.

Killing the cat is not an option. But I thought about it for a bit.

common , admit it, your jealous that they can get in the car ans sleep comfortably in those seats. while you would end up all busted up with a bad back if you tried actually sleeping in it instead of in your bed.

Seriously, I HAVE/HAD this problem! I tried apple bitter and made it clear to the wife the cat DOES NOT go in the garage. So the kids let him out! Suxs! Ok, so I got a 4-post lift. When the car is up there he chooses to sleep on the daily drivers and do something else but he stays away from the 930 now. Problem solved. You should try on of those motion sensor sound devices to run them off. That's what I was gonna do but I thought, heck, what a great time to sell a lift to the wife.... LOL! It worked!

cats are hard. they are incorrigible when there is something they want. have you tried the bitter apple spray? a proper electric fence around the car would probably work..... ask me how i know.

Spray a citrus based cleaner around the car. Cats will avoid that like the plague. This worked wonders when a tom cat was spraying our front porch earlier this year trying to win the affection of our indoor cat.

Oil of lemon-grass...cats hate that smell. You might find some in a well stocked pet shop.

I've got a lemon grass plant growing...

I also mentioned to Alarick, to pick up stuff in a spray can. I think it's watered down pepper spray, at least that's what it smells like to me.

Vicks Vapo-rub. Our cats hate the stuff. I think it's the camphor in it.

So I've picked up some cat repellent spray from Petco, and two types of orange/citrus spray cleaner from the hardware store. Will report back to see if any of these work.

Couldn't find the oil of lemon grass. Forgot about the Vicks suggestion when I was at the store. 4-post lift seems a bit over-the-top, and I'll have to do some calculations to check if the ceiling height and concrete pad thickness will support it, but it seems as if it's the car-guy way to go.

Where do I find apple bitter? What's it come in?

Have never had any luck with the stuff they supposedly don't like.

I'm about to try a couple of these though, a co-worker reports excellent results.

Ours learned suprisingly fast to run at the mere sight of an air soft gun.

To reduce or prevent urine marking, it is important to avoid cleaning marked areas with products containing ammonia or bleach. Cats are extremely sensitive to strong smells, so it is recommended to use water and rubbing alcohol or an odorless solution to treat soiled areas.

To prevent future urine marking, try Feliway
