Hell, he has probably given more of them away to us fellow Pelicans as gifts than he would ever hope to sell to us. Last I checked this is an off topic forum and one can post whatever one wants.

PS Shaun, I like the MX shirt.
Thanks Tim, you have it exactly right. In fact I've never sold LT on Pelican but really enjoy giving gifts, to a heck of a lot of folks by now. it's really rewarding.

I see now that my irrational exuberance and pride in building my company and showing some of my favorite designs, of which I am particularly proud, can be taken as a negative by some, which never really crossed my mind. I just wanted to share some good news.

I'm sorry, let me make this a little clearer for you: I only sell to retailers, online and Main Street small stores. I don't sell to the public. I give gifts to Pelican friends and donate to those in need.

When I run men's shirts for the Pelican audience, a thread is dedicated to their sale:

Limited Edition '56 Speedster T-shirts for Sale

New T-shirt: Engineers Sketch out the RS

'56 Speedster & '70 917 T-shirts

The shirts look great.
He's probably afraid to admit that he sat down and cried after the guy head butted him.

Thanks Supe. I'd take your back in a bar brawl any day man of steel!

It's amazing how averse some people are to defending themselves.

I think shaun is constantly trying to sell t-shirts here, actually. (afterall we comp products to get them out there to be seen. Even "gifts" are sales promotions/free advertising...)

But i guess that's the life of a t-shirt baron.

One of my favorite things about PPOT is when people post about their latest projects... whether it's on the cars, houses, at work or otherwise. It's fascinating to see what hard work and enthusiasm can produce. Shaun posts about his work because he's passionate about it, and it shows in the final product.

Notice how people reply to his threads and give kudos? That's because we're enthusiastic too... much like when someone posts about a recent renovation on their house, or a car project.

One thing I've noticed over the years: it's a certain type of person who sits back and makes snide comments when someone else has accomplished something.

Explain yourself. Why is Wayne wrong in having me post here in OT and Classifieds? Why do you want to disallow folks who love a good Porsche-inspired shirt the chance to get one?

Are you really this bitter and bored?

Thanks Jake, most folks notice your points as well. These guys are just bored and have nothing else going on. Hard to blame them for manufacturing a little drama to spice up their lives. I can only guess that without the drama they create in OT, here 24/7, they'd have little else.

Another thing to notice is those that create the drama don't really have any threads to show their accomplishments. Kinda sad really.

Anyway, thanks for the good words, hope you are well.

Well, you know, I do have a confession to make. Remember this thread here:

What's for dinner: Thai-inspired Crab Cakes

I moved 30 gross of fresh Maryland jumbo lump crab meat after posting that dinner and turned on a friend who sold 200 cases of Sriracha to Guam.

LOL!

Can't quite figure out why you give a d@mn about Shaun's clothing business either way. I suppose if he was in the business of making HK dovetail mounted laser sights you would probably not have a problem if he posted a picture or two of them.

As Jake said so well, OT is a great place for everyone to post their accomplishments. Why sniper thinks I sell things here is beyond me, other than he needs the manufactured narrative. Without it he doesn't have any drama, and everyone on this board knows just how well he needs his drama.

Hey i'm not the one posting threads asking how a man should act when physically assaulted.

Nor am i the one posting threads on a semi-regular basis about my Wal Mart-esque T-shirts. If coming up with a dinosaur print on a T-shirt is your idea of an artful "accomplishment," then by all means post away. And here i thought you were just trying to move product.

Several people have commented about your Gorilla sales tactics in this thread. It's not like it's just me or BLEW.

WOW! I guess I touched a raw nerve...again. Now really Shaun, easy on the name calling and attempts to hurt my feelings. It casts you in a poor and negative light.
My apologies to you sir. All I ever said was there is a more appropriate place for your advertising.

My accomplishment is starting and successfully running a manufacturing company during an economic decline. I'm really proud of that. I used to think that making a basic t-shirt was easy. It's not. Corduroy pants...rocket science, really. I'm sorry that when I post pics of my shirts (you've got to see the cords, cargo's and jeans someday...the vintage leather motorcycle racing jacket is awesome as well) you think I'm trying to sell them. It isn't. it is because a lot of folks here enjoy seeing and sharing in that success and are happy for me. Just as I am happy for anyone here with similar, or completely different, but real accomplishments.

Again, I don't sell anything here.

I don't list the stores I am in.

I don't list the online retailers that carry me.

I don't list prices.

I don't do anything that would lead anyone to believe that I am selling my clothing here. I even use LT for short much of the time.

When someone wants to know more about the clothing, I send them a linesheet (wholesale catalog without prices), ask about size, what they like, and then send them a package gratis. I really enjoy that part of the company, my life goal being the creation of an altruistically-based for-profit company (long story in and of itself) and while LT isn't that company, little things like clothes to sick kids and just kids in general are part of my plan. I like doing something both unexpected and nice. I really enjoy hearing back from them on how much their kid(s) like the clothing. And I like to get new ideas and feedback from them in general. it's a win for everyone.

Bill, I don't know why you would make something up and create an entire story around me selling my company's clothing here. it just isn't true. You've been able to thoroughly express your viewpoint on what I should and should not have done given the situation. We all got that. But please don't manufacturer drama and fiction about me that aren't true.

I am very proud of the company I have built. I'm sorry if my demonstrating that irks you.

I think we can put this to bed right now. I did the right thing with great advice here. The cops clearly did the right thing and put the fear of God into this fellow. there is no follow-up, no drama, no story, no nothing.

And that my friends is how I know the advice given was excellent. The drama ended. I think if I hadn't called the police, there would be ongoing trouble. So again, and I can't believe I suckered into this dramafest (feels like an episode of Glee), thank you all for the great advice, and thank you for the support and good cheer.
