TP has, in the last 3 or so years gone from 5" rolls to 4.5" and now they are all 4". Annnd, they cost more.

From the housewife in me (yes she's buried in there somewhere)...unwrap the soap and let it dry out. It will last longer.

Do I have this problem? Only in our bathroom...getting the kids to actually use the soap in their shower is more my problem....I know they get under the shower as I am usually pounding on the door to make them get out....more washing, less dreaming under there would be good .

Ivory soap. The bars have also shrunken over the years but it is cheap & doesn't have perfume in the mix. We have used it ever since we had rug rats in the house.

So some group of MBAs has figured out how to sell more soap.. Imagine that.

Who knows what is in the deodorant and scented soaps? Food or toiletries made in China - no thank you!

Thanks for joining, as the "Pelican Place"

You will remember last time, Mike Z has left his wife and moved to Reno, P-O-P has left LA LA land for the excitement of Granite, Rick L was contemplating breaking the law, O.J.U. is still dealing with the Candian not-attorney and Nostatic has given up meditation in Buddism for the soothing zen of rifle fire.

Where, where will things lead today? stay tuned, but first a word from our sponsors

Pelican Soap, the soap that makes your Porsche faster than rice, cooler than the cool collar, and your transmission shift better than SWEPCO. Available where ever you can find it...

It seems to have really gotten worse lately. I bet my wife and go through a bar every 3 days at the most.

I never could get used to using a wash cloth though, I just use the bare bar so maybe that's part of the reason.

flatbutt 03-10-2010 10:35 AM

every 3 days!? dude, what else are you using it for?

Prepping my house for sale in May '08, got my lovely Hunter Green tile shower spotless for showings - but where was all that white streaking coming from? Irish Spring bar soap. I had to use acid to keep it clean...but grout was dissolving, too. Googled the problem...Irish Spring was the culprit...mucho talc in their formula. They also said that the excess talc dissolves the bar more quickly.
I switched to body wash...problem solved.
YMMV.

You must have teenagers in the house, or you're still one at heart.

Turn the hot water off, they will get out quick and no more stress of pounding on the door. :)

I have threatened that more than once - just been too lazy to go outside and do it. Bad Mummy - 1st rule of parenting - never make idle threats; only ever threaten what you will follow through ;)....
