Bar soap dissapearing faster?

I use Irish Spring. Lately I've been noticing that I'm only getting about five or six showers out of a bar of soap before it's totally gone. New bar, three showers, halfway gone. The first shower wears away the "Irish Spring" logo on the bar.
When I was a kid, I remember that bar soap would last...weeks?

No, I don't leave it in the water.

Anyone else noticing this lately?

DIAL is the same. Smaller bars, same packaging. Classic way to save a few pennies in manufacturing.

We get more than 5 or 6 uses, though.

Some soap has all kinds of perfumes and other stuff and it dissolves quickly. The more lather it makes, the faster it disappears. other brands not so much.
Try dial or one of the other brands that's been around since the old days and see how long it lasts.

I have a bar of lava soap on the sink in the garage. Not much perfume, not much lather.
I use that bar all the time to wash my hands but it seems like it's been there forever

Buy 4-5 bars at a time, unwrap, leave under the counter or something.

See if the later ones last longer than the earlier ones. This at least used to work with Dial, it would evaporate off some of the moisture that came in the bar so that it didn't so easily dissolve in water and send a ton of it straight down the drain.

Maybe they just run out faster because it's hot water and the house is kept at 45 degrees?

They whip more air in to save on product cost, trading mass for volume.
Used to be the same for pints of ice cream(ben and jerry).

Try Dr. Bronners! I tried it and I really like it. Not too perfummey, just the right amount of lather.

I use Irish Spring and nothing else as well. And I've had the same thought - they're disappearing faster. Though, the normal Irish Spring lasts longer than the one with Aloe. I don't know what they did, but it definitely doesn't last as long as it did a decade ago.

Smaller bars, same price. Open them and let them 'air out' for a while - they DO last longer.

TP has, in the last 3 or so years gone from 5" rolls to 4.5" and now they are all 4". Annnd, they cost more.
