diecast

Is there such a thing as a James Dean "Little Bastard" Spyder diecast? If so, where available?

I found this doing a search on Google.Maisto Porsche 550 A Spyder 1:18 OVP Special Edition - eBay.ch (endet 22.01.10 19:48:29 MEZ)

I'd check Ebay to find one in this country.

I've had this one forever, (I got it from some mobilia catalog back in the 90's, at a closeout - less than 10 bucks IIRC) but I never considered it a Dean replica inasmuch as it's missing the numbers, the Nurburgring badges and the Little Bastard lettering. Lots of the details are there however, like the side mirror, the center fuel fill and the cut down windscreen, but didn't Porsche build quite a few of these?

Looks like a nice collection you've got there.

There was a 1/24th scale made by CMC about 15 years ago. Very detailed, even had leather seats. I sold them for around $200.
I also sold a decal sheet that was for the Maisto 1/18th 550. It had the red "spears" for the rear fenders, the "little bastard", and the correct license plate.

It's coming along. I really need a silver impact bumper 911. (And apparently a 918.)

(and a decent way to display them)

Here's a pic of our model room. 1000 models, all Porsches, all scales. There is one more case not in the pic.

Thanks!
I've been collecting and building Porsche models since I was 7 years old, and that was alot of years ago!
We are downsizing and have decided the collection must go. I want to sell the entire collection intact to one person. It would be a shame to break it up at this point. I'm sure I'll shed a tear or two when it goes.

For awhile, before we started selling some of the stuff, the whole house was a shrine to Porsche! I've got a wife that's in to it as bad as I am. She even managed a Porsche race team in ALMS!
Bought this for me for Valentines day one year.....

917 12 cyl case from the L&M car.

I like the German silver on white theme. (plus the McLaren...) Very nice.

Did you make the little display placards?

You need some glass doors on the shelves to help keep the dust off those things.
