I think I'll do a project spoon myself..

I want to start a project gun for myself. I know you will all laugh at this but my choice of project is a Savage model 93 in .17 HMR. I bought the cheapo model with the rubber stock, planning on making it a mannlicher stock in the style of the CZ FS model or Steyr. I'm working on a budget here so yes cost IS a factor. I have gone to many web sites but only a few offer the mannlichler style stocks. Anyone here know of someone that can cut me a semi inletted stock in that style? I can either supply the wood in a nice red maple or use the stock makers blank.

I LOVE my 93! I bought the mid-level model with the wood (oak?) stock, but not the thumbhole.

Tell you what i'd LOVE to get, a wood insert for my hogue free floated foreend and a hogue pattern wood pistol grip stock. All super high polish like my HK grips. I've seen wooden AR furniture, but i don't like any of it.

You can fashion a piece of wood to wrap around that center panel on the hogue forearm? The forearm unscrews at the chamber end, at the barrel nut. That would so totally rock. What kind of wood should i look into? I want it to be tough as well as good looking, obviously. I just need 2 blocks of wood? Dude you so totally rock man. The Rifle is a Bushmaster XM-15E2S Carbine. The pistol grip and forearm are both made by hogue.

No promises, but I'll look into it. They got the panel on so it comes off, then use it as a pattern. any wood you want.

Right now what's on there is a thin layer of the dimpled hogue trademark rubber wrapped around an aluminum tube.
