I am sorry to hear about your father Vinny; stay positive, he has passed and nothing will change that, so remember the love and memories and not the final moments. He knew he was loved I am sure.
Peace, |
Wow, I'm totally floored! I cant thank all you guys (and girls) enough for all the kind words.:) This is a prime example of why I enjoy this site so much.:)
Been a rough past two days. Me and my sister finalized all the arrangements this morning. My dad had given me a sealed envelope about 20 yrs ago. It had all of his last wshes and burial requests in it. All of which my mom is dead set against. So there in lay the biggest hurdle. He just wanted a simple cremation. No wake or viewing. Nobody crying over him. ( which is exactly what my written request states). Mom, being the old school religious Italian that she is, freaked when she seen the letter. So It was a battle dealing with her. So we somewhat ended up in the middle. with a cremation and one night and one full day viewing, starting tonight. Dads ashes will end up being buried with my brother. The circumstances involving his death will definitely be dealth with at a later date. |
Obviously a tough situation let alone under these circumstances. But it sounds like you & your family compromised and things are better.
Our health care is the best in the world but when it comes to the elderly it's an entirely different story. |
