Lost my dad today..
 

Lost my dad today. He was 83. Worse part is, it was partially due to negligence on part of the rehab home he was in. He ended up with a severe case of pneumonia. Which the aZZholes neglected to diagnose. My mother had been pleading with them all day to do something. (She finally called me after a couple of hours , then i shot over to the home. ) And when they did think that he might have a "problem", they called for a medical transport instead of a regular ambulance through 911. A fact that they outright lied to me about. It took the transport almost an hour and a half to get there. When I walked into his room, he couldnt breathe, had aspirated and was coughing up red fluid. I immediately called 911 and had the paramedics there in under 4 mins. The transport arrived about a half hour after the medics did. He passed on the way to the hospital.

Needless to say, I am besides myself.

Vinny, I am truly sorry for your loss.

I lost my dad on the 5th of Feb. I still have not had a meltdown but feel it is coming. My fellow Pelicans helped me through the toughest time.

We lost my dad on Jan 2, after quite the 6 month roller coaster ride from operation, thru infections, rehospitalization, rehab, hospital, rehab, home, then a week till his death.

The state of health care in this country is incredible and horrible at the same time. I feel for you

I'm sorry to hear about this, Vinny... especially the way it happened. It's hard enough to lose a parent, but when it's because of incompetence or something akin to it, it's worse because the grief is all mingled with frustration and anger.

Just know he doesn't blame any of you for it.

Wow, just got back from dinner with my Dad down in San Diego and saw this. Really sorry to hear it Vinny. I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better in this moment but there probably isn't. It sounds like you were close and I hope that he was at least healthy up until recently.
