BRPORSCHE 03-21-2010 06:08 PM

I can't stop drooling over that citori. Me want.

BRPORSCHE 03-21-2010 06:11 PM

I have shot quite a few shot spoons over the years. I grew up shooting my Remington 870 magnum. Sadly, it is a youth and I have seriously outgrown it. Ihave now been shooting my father's Ithaca 51.

dhoward 03-21-2010 06:17 PM

I'll bet there's someone on this board who could provide a properly fitted and finished stock for your 870.
Just sayin'....

BRPORSCHE 03-21-2010 06:23 PM

Here is a pictures of all my shoot spoons. 870 is at the top.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1269221025.jpg

I really like the old Mossberg bolts.
My grandfather lived on a small lake and there were always two handy.
Kept a 12 for starlings and a .410 / slugs for muskrats.
Great fun for a kid.

David, I have one with a button on the trigger like yours, I wonder what it's for?

that is a barrel /trigger selector. If it is in that is the barrel that fires first. That looks very SKB. The second trigger will not fire without recoil. If you bump the stock relativly hard on the floor it will be enough to shift the mechanism to the second barrel. can you show me a picture of the safety switch?

on2wheels52 03-21-2010 07:47 PM

So who has the copycat? Mine came out in 1931.

SKB is a Japanese company.....enough said. So is that a browning or what?

on2wheels52 03-22-2010 04:04 AM

A 12 ga 21 Winchester. I'd like to trade it (and some boot will be necessary) for one in 20 ga.

870 stocks are a bolt on deal. Look on ebay, buy the same gauge stock, then contact me. I can get you switched in about 20 minutes over the phone. I'll walk you through it.

My modest but functional collection (not necessarily in order);
1100 12ga (psha! but has sentimental value)
Gold Hunter Upland 20ga
Onyx Sporting 12ga
391 12ga camo
Wingmaster 20ga
391 20ga youth/ladies (for son/wife)

Have also owned a BPS 28ga (really pretty gun), 3901 in black, M1 in camo (26" bbl, good duck gun but prefer the gas operation of the 391)

Nice grouping...I bought a '80's vintage Citori from a friend of mine this weekend. I'll take it out this afternoon. I have always wanted an O/O.

Thanks to Dave, I'm almost done.

Key is we shoot...no hangers.

Dave,

We have an 870 Junior as well ($150 used from a friend)...is the hardware the same as a regular 870?

We'll keep it for the next generation of shooters, but I am curious.

Best.

Paul

Hey Paul, yes it should be. I can't see them making a youth action. I will check to be certain though.

On another note, I took my Darne to a gun show this past weekend just as a conversation piece. I felt like the pied Piper! I had folks following me around saying things like " Is that a Darne? Never seen one for real" As I walked through the show the price kept getting higher, not that I would sell it, but if the right fool,,,,errr money was out there I would let it go.

You guys deserve each other, really.

Jack and I will be up in a month or so...with or without the Snip;)

Hope all is well...my best.

Paul

I was looking at a whole rack of Rem 870 Police pumps this past week for $265.00 used. Is that a good price?
