Great picture of past champs; Jody Schecter was the toughest one to I.D.. I had to look him up. Great to see Mario there. USF1 needs someone like him to help direct their efforts and keep them honest and realistic.

Had a face to face with Fittipaldi one time at Toronto Indy (1994) I think. I met him just outside his motorhome. He was with his young son, who looked about 12 yrs old. Didn't know at the time but must have been Christian. He was very friendly and talked for a couple of minutes and happily gave me his autograph. I was very impressed with his coolness. I'm sure he would rather not have wasted time with me, but he didn't show it.

Rain makes for the most entertaining racing, doesn't it? Watch for it being proposed by Bernie eventually: randomly operated sprinklers on the race course.

good race today. wonder when Red Bull is going to get their cars sorted for a full race distance.
adrian newey needs to be reined in. his cars have always been the fastest but also the most fragile. in his time at williams, patrick head had to keep newey in line to make sure the cars finished the races. I bet the brake ducts on the red bull are too small or something and that lead to the brake failure.
button did everything today to un-settle hamilton. really showing how it is done. praising the team at every chance at the same time hamilton was pointing fingers at every one but himself for a bad race. this will be an issue to follow over the season.

What was the real reason for Vettel's spin? He claimed front brake failure, but possibly they didn't work because the RF wheel was off the ground from a LR suspension/tire failure?

saw that there was a sparking coming from the left front during the accident. he lost brakes. the disc broke. but you're right. it did look like the right front wheel was up in the air. which ever way it happened, once again a driver has been let down by a fragile newey design.

Gotta hand it to Vettel, he has a lot of composure during those interviews for someone so young.

Born to race in the F1 pressure cooker.

Button won today.
Think he's such a great guy for F1.
Humble, appreciative, etc.
So different from most of the F1 pilots.
No ego at all.....

Pleasure watching him the past 2 seasons.
Hope he is World Champ for the 2nd time this year.
Cheers

I noticed the podium ceremony was a lot more genuine than I've seen in a long time. I think all three drivers were truely happy with the result. At the driver's Q&A I think Jense had something on his mind when asked what the win meant to him, but he held back and gave some expected comments. Could he already be feeling the Hami-preference at Woking?

Hami..what a tool, taking it out on his crew at the end of the race over the radio.

I doubt whether there is "no ego", couldn't make it to F1 without a fairly good sized one.

I don't doubt he's at Bernie after he beat the "simply quicker" Hamilton.

I understand the cost-controlling ban against testing, with the exception of the few approved pre-season sessions. But does it seem a bit ridiculous to hold the 4 (3) new teams from trying stuff out before showing up at a race weekend? Where's the sport in having 6 cars running 3 seconds per lap slower during the race, and not even finishing? Virgin's fuel tanks aren't even large enough to hold sufficient fuel to last a full race distance? Sheesh, maybe an exception to the testing ban could be made this year for the new teams.
