Mission Impossible was a "do not miss" every week growing up.
Dud you know that Peter Graves was the original "Thing" in the "The Thing" movie? That was a scary movie growing up. |

Can you imagine what would happen if they tried to crack those same airplane jokes now? Every special interest group in the country would be throwing lawsuits around and threatening boycotts.
Yes it's funny and harmless, but I could just see the wackos crying about how "pedophiles and grooming aren't funny". "The I talk jive bit was racist". "There's nothing funny about drug abuse". being PC sucks big time. I liked it better when we were honest instead. BTW, remember airplane II, the sequel? McCROSKY The Des Moines Institute? MRS. SALUCCI Then you know it. KRUGER/McCROSKY/COMMISSIONER Yes, we're familiar with it. |

John Carpenter's The Thing was much better. Pretty good movie, IMO.

Weird... I was just watching Stalag 17 last night and it stars a very young Peter Graves.
RIP, Pete. |

Agree and some of us refuse to be PC anymore. Tired of this crap and not going to put up with it anymore. Course I am getting to be an old fart so its more acceptable. RIP Peter, really enjoyed your work!

I think his show was mis-named. Should have been something more like "Mission Seems Impossible."
