There was an article in one of the British car mags a year or so ago that profiled him a bit. Poor guy was raped by one of his mother's boyfriend's when he was 8 years old, and had to live with that his whole life. Evidently his mother was a bit of a fluzie and he got handed off to whoever would look after him when she found work here and there. Does not sound like a fun way to grow up...

I didn't see it listed but......
The m/c that The Fonz rode to "jump the shark" was the bike that Steve M used in "The Great Escape".

The bike in the picture above is a U.S. market 1970 Triumph Bonneville. I've owned the identical bike, (albeit w/ stock mufflers), and also a 1969, which is almost identical.

He likes his 73 better, it's more of a chopper than the 70 (i dont know if thats stock or some modification someone had done along the way), which is very similar to the hondas of the era in riding position.

1971 started the 'oil in frame' era of those bikes which altered the seating position a lot in 1971, and then they changed (lowered) it again in 1972 because people complained so much. If he's got a '73 that's a chopper it's likely he's not using a stock frame (or front end, or brakes, for that matter) so its apples and watermelons.

Maybe it's a 71. It's an oil in framer though, for sure. I'll have to ask him. I'm not really up to speed on triumphs.

I went for a MC ride a couple hours ago and went by his house in Brentwood, the one in the famous pictures of him with his cars in the driveway. Jesus, what a beautiful place. The guy really knew how to live...
