Anyone have a Toaster Oven they actualy like?

I hate my toaster oven because it takes forever to pre heat as an oven, and just as long to toast bread. The bread has to be watched because it will either burn or be too light. I dont want a regular pop-up toaster.

Anyone have any recommendations? I don’t mind going “high end” as long as its worth it.

Check out the Breville Convection Toaster oven at

CHEFS: The Best Kitchen Starts Here

I've had mine two years and it is good at everything that it does.

My most recent convection toaster oven is nice, but we don't use it for toast. It's a Breville.

I have a Krups, works great and quickly as an oven, works okay but slowly as a toaster. I think the latter is unavoidable. Everyone I know who has a Breville Smart Oven loves it. Not sure about the bread toasting performance, I've never asked about that.

My wife uses a standard toaster for toasting bread, so I can't guage the effectiveness of the Breveille for toasting. I rarely toast bread. Hamburger buns are toasted on the grill. If I make egg/bacon muffins, I fry the english muffins on a griddle.

I have a Delonghi that has run twice a day and served me well for 5ish years but it is just about toast

I am looking at this one: Amazon.com: Waring WTO450 Professional Toaster Oven, Brushed Stainless Steel: Kitchen & Dining

Anybody have it/like it? I want simple and effective and don't need digital controls or beeping timers.

Nothing made in the last 50 years can compare to a Dualit 20293.

edit: apparently I can't read. The Dualit is a great toaster, but not a toaster oven.

Cuisinart Brick Oven. It heats fast, toasts, cooks frozen pizza from frozen in about 12 minutes, and has a rotisserie.

A regular pop-up toaster at Walmart for $20 makes perfect toast every time because it has a dial for how dark you want it.

Cuisinart

Cuisinart Toaster Oven Broiler (model TOB-195) - had it for about 2 years and love it. A bit pricy - $180 at most stores.

Great for toast, reheating pizza or baking (casseroles etc).

Consistent toast once you figure out times for the type of bread you are toasting (regular sliced time vs. bagel etc). You set/store the time for the the toast or bagel button and never consider it again - one button push for consistent toast or bagle.

I haven't used the convection oven feature much due to the significant difference in baking time that it has (definitely much shorter, but throws a normal recipe bake time out the window leaving you guessing at when something is done).

We have a double oven but end up using the toaster most of the time.

Good luck, Gordo

We have that same one at home. Very happy with it.

The Delonghi I have at work has been bullet proof. it gets a ton of use and has held up well over the years.

I have a Black & Decker Convection Oven. It does what I expect of it. Does it toast bread like a popup toaster? No, because it isn't a popup toaster. If I had room on my counter for one of those I'd buy one. It toasts bread, reheats things I don't want to microwave. Cooks a 12" pizza. The best part about it? It cost me $25 on sale (clearance at Menards). Reg price was $90

Last thing I need is another crappy small appliance taking up counter space!
Bagel size pop up toaster stored in shelf and brought out for bread and bagels.
Oven on BROIL for anything bigger or having cheese toasted on.
Not much bread eating going on at my house, hence not much to toast either.
