Minutemen to the border!

late breaking investigative news source...........the sonorannews.com reports that an e-mail has bean sent to all minutemen to be prepared to go to the border "locked and loaded" because" the situation has become more dangerous than the border of afghanistan."

and that this time after "playing nice" with obama/mccain/napolitano for 8 long years "LONG GUNS ARE ENCOURAGED."

i cant even believe i just read this! WTF?????????

has ICE and the BORDER PATROL gone on sabbatical or somethang?

now this also is kind of bizzarre-o, considering our very own lokal "shurf joe" has announced another "crime sweep" despite the fact the u.s. justice dept. is involved with an ongoing investigation re: his sheriffs dept. and illegal alien immigration policies.

and to top it off.................our very own "DAMN-IT JANET" napolitano cancels a $50 million dollar contract for electronic border surveillance-TODAY!

hey now! just what the hell is going on?

who in the HELL IS RUNNING THE SHOW and WHO THE HELL IS GETTING ANYTHING DONE ABOUT OUR POROUS BORDERS????

and where the HELL is the $50million going?

She says that the virtual fence doesn't work. No other info provided. I think we are looking at a new wave of immigration, and they will be legalized shortly.

+1! When Obama says that nobody here illegally will qualify for his socialized medicine scheme he is right....because he will see to it that nobody is here illegally.

now if there was ever a reason NOT TO GO HUNTING in arizonas southern hunt units(which are beautiful and plenty with game) this is the reason.

1) armed minutemen

2) illegal aliens

3) illegal alien armed human smugglers

4) illegal alien armed drug smugglers

5) illegal aliens armed with stolen vehicles

6) ICE

7) BORDER PATROL

8) county sheriffs

9) armed national guard

10) hunters like me

sounds like the days of hunting southern arizona are really over now.

As much as I think this kind of thing should be legal and encouraged, I'd not want to expose myself to such criminal and civil liability. More than one private property owner has gone to jail or been sued into the poorhouse for defending his land against illegals.

yeah rick that sure was a case of "who the feek is the bad guy". remember that well. that poor rancher went thru hell protecting his property, let alone the law suits.

this just keeps getting more BIZZARO by the day.

the virtual fence idea was put off til 2016 due to glitches involving cameras that could not be held steady during high winds. now wtf couldnt figure that one out. maybe some angle iron/tubing insulated in rubber baby buggy bumpers, and maybe BOEING would not have lost the contract.
i can hear it now. " ah yeah boss, we lost the $50 MILL-YON dollar contract cuz those jerks down in engineering couldnt figure out how to keep the camera steady when it gets windy." "ah yeah, WE are all FIRED!"

hell its a great system when it works. watched natgeo on this. in ground land sensors detect movement, camera goes on, finds out if its a coyote/java-leaner/bobby kitty, etc or human bad guys or even good guys. and then either they send ICE/BORDER patrol or do nothing cuz its a critter.

Could have something to do with the escalating drug cartel violence that's been spilling over here of late.

Quote:
The Department of Homeland Security, citing delays and cost overruns for the project, has decided to shift $50 million in economic stimulus funds set aside for the "fence," to other purposes related to border security.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said she would freeze work on the five-year plan to mount sensors and other surveillance gear along stretches of the 2,000-mile border. Two pilot projects in Arizona will apparently remain in place and actual fencing along several hundred miles of border will also stay.

"Not only do we have an obligation to secure our borders, we have a responsibility to do so in the most cost-effective way possible," Napolitano said in a statement. "The system of sensors and cameras along the Southwest border . . . has been plagued with cost overruns and missed deadlines."

The freed-up money, she said, will go to other "tested, commercially available security technology," including mobile surveillance equipment, thermal imaging devices, ulta-light detection, cameras and laptops for chase vehicles.

Could also be using things like this as a smokescreen... Remember, "Never let a good crisis go to waste!"

OJU -

Have you heard anything else?

Gov. Perry just dispatched National Guard helicopters to the Texas Border to patrol from El Paso to Brownsville.

Sounds like a precursor for Schumer and Grahams proposed immigration (amnesty) legislation, which Obama FULLY supports. Nothing better for BO's re-election hopes than granting amnesty (and citizenship) to millions of illegals!

Not sure how police helicopters are going to reduce gang activity across the border. Maybe the governor is expecting a massive invasion of Mad Max characters.

Perhaps the contract/procurement system needs an overhaul. Are US companies being singled out for inop surveillance equipment and computers? Why do I get the feeling vendors for the US govt. overcharge for services/equipment yet provide stuff that doesn't work? If true, maybe we should outsource to other vendors (elsewhere) to get the job done correctly. Hate to say it, but that seems to be the pattern.

Have we lost all sense of manufacturing quality or is it just govt. sloppiness, lack of oversight or vendor apathy/greediness?

Last time I checked it was still highly illegal to shoot and kill anyone inside the US border, illegal alien or no illegal alien.

So I dunno what sport-hunting season juan thinks is opening...
