No, some of us have more interesting pasts. I had a tough time with parts of Goodfellas as well.

Haven't seen Breaking Bad (too many other shows) but I will get around to it on dvd eventually. AMC has really stepped it up with Bad and Mad Men, one of my absolute favorites.

I tried to watch it.... got through 2-3 episodes. My nephews were in a few episodes, so my sister wanted me to try it. For the life of me, I can't figure out why people like this crap. Could you possibly fill your free time with anything worse? Dark, depressing, scum of the earth is all I can think of. I have better things to do with my time, thanks. But, have fun with it if its your thing

After that opening scene in Season 1 where Brian bursts out of the RV after the meth cooking went bad caught my eye. I've been a faithful fan ever since. That said, it does "go long" in some areas, and certain plotlines (mid-air explosion) are a bit far-fetched.
Will I stop watching? Nope. Still better than most shows on today, with the cool exception of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" Now THAT'S a funny, can't-look-away show. Recommended!!

For all you Breaking Bad fans, There was a great podcast with series creator Vince Gilligan and the TV critic Tim Goodman.

Yup. I felt that way about The Sound of Music.

Maybe I have a soft spot for the scum of the earth. There's Dostoyevski. And Bukowski. And Burroughs. And Gide. Or James Lee Burke or Elmore Leonard or Philip Roth... The list is endless. It's the art/craft that's interesting. The setting is...just the setting... And then of course there is The Sound of Music. Friends. Brideshead Revisited. The Lucy Show. Sex in The City. Californication etc. etc. etc. I don't know. I just don't know.

For those of you that think it's slow or drawn out, look at the bright side, it's AMC!
So, you get no more than 7 minutes of programming at any one time followed by at least 5 minutes of commercials.

I could never do that. Can't abide commercials. Apple TV works for us.
