I own the "lowly" 1976 car because I didn't know any better at the time ( until I found this forum" but it has been a fantastic car. Since I was not allowed to keep cars very long, in my youth, it made me sentimental about cars, GUILTY as charged , Didn"t take many pics, unfortunately, but this was one of my favorites, a 428 Cobra jet with his n her shifter, out ran the cops many times , this picture was taken by the guy I sold it to, he blew the engine hence the tall grass under it
There's absolutely no excuse for leaving that car out in the sun, waiting for the dry grass to ignite and burn it up. I love older American cars, and my 73 RS Z28 is a hoot to drive. As far as not being nimble, take us back to the late 60's and 70's with Donahue and friends. These cars handle just fine if you put the time (and money) into the suspension. If there was one more car I'd like to have next to my Camaro, it's an AMX. What a BEAUT!

Just own 'em both. I love domestics for brute acceleration and the fact they are absurdly easy to work with.

A 911 is just fun to drive. They are different.

Funny, I'm thinking of buying a (used) car in the next year or two, the short list.

996

Mustang V6

Hyundai Genesis V6

cut the Mustang and Hyundai off the list- both are boat anchors for resale value...

I owned that cobra when I was 16, the pic was taken when I sold it , I think I was 17 ...... many years later I found that car sitting in a back yard with junk all around it , I tried to buy it even though it was in terrible shape, its still there as far as I know, I drove a AMX Javelin red white and blue, fast car but not as fast as a 440 mag charger, 1st porsche I ever drove was 914, it was awesome , then I bought a 928 and was hooked( after I wrecked a 300z)

I have a friend with 914-6 with a 400HP 3.8 with a short gear box, that is still one of the most fun cars that I have ever driven..
