Do you find the Broadview Security commercials insulting?

I think every one of them is just ridiculously unrealistic. Who are all these good looking white guys kicking in ex gf's doors, when they know 100% they will be ID'ed and caught? How about the one where the guy is watching the MILF kick the ball with her daughter in the backyard knowingly kicks the door in on an occupied house and then is scared off by the alarm? And that one where the couple on their first date is running up to her front door in the rain? First of all, how many single women live in a house that big? Remember, the guy who kicks in the door is her ex-BF, not ex-husband. But what idiot tells a guy on the first date at the doorstep, "You know, I just got out of a bad relationship." I won't even get into their model-looking, "highly trained, award-winning" monitoring personnel. Honestly, Wile E. Coyote waiting for the Acme delivery truck to arrive is more realistic than any of these commercials. And why are all these lonely women unarmed? I've dated plenty who had more guns than I did at the time.

They don't show the one where the crazy ex-GF tries to slash her ex-BF's tires with a pocket knife and it folds over on her hand and cuts her finger and then she smears the blood all over her face, sits down on his front step and calls the cops and has him arrested for domestic violence. Broadview exclusively uses imaginary crazy DUDES instead.

Ah, forgot about that old thread. The commercials seem to run non-stop. But then I probably have the tube on too much.

Well look who's back, it's AJ, looks like he forgot his keys. I want to call them and tell them I'm not worried about some clean looking white guy breaking in, do they have alarms that work with some other undesirables?
And then the commercials for Viagra warning of a four hour erection. I can't help it, I laugh every time.

You guys forget that the clean cut white guys kicking in doors are wearing hoodies... a sure sign of extreme evil.

Yes, I find them extremely insulting.

I don't like that they always show the intruder being instantly frightened off (which I don't think is realistic in the rape/ex-boyfriend commercials). They also always show Broadview calling within seconds, which anyone with a monitored alarm knows is unrealistic.

They're horrible. But, I'm sure they're designed to prey upon the fear of folks that are already afraid, not those of us that aren't afraid. So for the folks that are already afraid, I'm sure when they see the ads they think, "Aha, I knew it! See, that's what I've been concerned about all of this time!!"

You guys actually watch commercials? Except for during the Super Bowl, we mute all commercials and/or we're off channel surfing during the commercial breaks.

I very rarely sit down to watch anything. But I often have the tv on in the background while I cook or surf Asian porn.

That's where you're screwing up. Turn off the TV and surf Asian porn while you cook.

I am particularly amused by the way the perpetrator runs like a scalded cat the split second he hears the alarm.

I don't need no stinking alarm... anyone breaking into my house has to deal with...

The wrath of Rhoda!!!

Don't be fooled... she is a vicious killing machine!

Absolutely. Here's the Broadview commercial I want to see:

Broadview dispacher: Hi this Broadview Security we detected an alarm. Are you OK?

Potential Victim: Hold on.

(Background noise): POW POW POW.

Potential Victim: There was an intruder in my home!!

Broadview dispacher: I'm sending help!!

Potential Victim: Send the coroner and biohazard clean up.

I used to work as a consultant for one of the biggest companies out there. The entire industry is just one big scam. They all share the same couple monitoring stations. The monitoring station call center is staffed by minimum wage type telemarketer quality employees, and most of the systems leave GLARING holes in coverage.

What's more, false alarms will get you fined in many locales.

If you want an alarm, just buy the components yourself and install them yourself.

Oh, and buy a freakin' spoon if you actually care about your safety.

No, No, it's like this:

"Hello, Broadview Security."

"Hi, this is David Goodman. I'm caling because I just returned from out of town and my front door is kicked open, and there's a ticket from the police department for $500."

"Mr. Goodman, I show in our records that your alarm was triggered on Saturday morning at 3AM, and we relayed the alarm to the local police department."

"This ticket from the police shows 4:45 AM."

"Well, I'm sorry, sir. All we can do is report the alarm to the police. Their response time is not under our control. Thanks for using Broadview Security."
