ok, i'm just gonna say it.."i like the YARIS".

i am typing away, in SoCAL. had to rent a car. opted for the YARIS, coupe. that thing creates space inside. it is huge, spacious, and for a tiny turd, the view out of the glass is very good. i may take a temporary position at work (one year training actually) that will require me to give up my work truck, and either move to sacramento, or make the drive. if so, i am buying a YARIS with the per diem.. (my commute would be the same as now, just the opposite direction)

the car is really pretty great. the AC froze my ass.

I have a Yaris. Its a great car. I drive 100 miles a day round trip to work and back. I bought the S model 2 door hatchback with manual trans. for a daily driver / work car it does everything I need. Oil changes are easy too, you can reach the filter and drain plug without jacking the car up or getting underneath it. I am very happy with it. There was one recall on it to remove some kind of foam insulator from the seat belt retractor. took them 5 minutes.

The Nissan Versa and Honda Fit are pretty good little cars too.

The Ford Fiesta is gonna set the bar a little higher though. Amazing for a small car

I wouldnt consider it a man card violation, I had a quad cab dakota 4wd, the money i spent on gas alone in that thing paid for the yaris. I dont feel the need to impress anyone with a work car. I still have a 911 at home and a stash of 70's muscle cars and Harleys.......

Mine is standard shift and I have seen 40 mpg with it. The Nissan versa was nicer inside and more confortable but I didnt like the way it drove.

Not to hijack, but Burbank is really Hollywood. And, yes, there is no definition of what city you are in. It's like a huge run on sentence.

I'm 35mi. S of you which is over an hour in good traffic. There is never "good" traffic.

Enjoy the chicken dance.

I had the (dis)pleasure of renting a Chevy HHR yesterday in fact. I think a worse, more loathsome and overall worthless POS made by any automaker on earth does not exist.

Next time I'll try out one of the Yarii. Who knows, maybe it'll do something for me. The HHR sure didn't. Gawd what a hunk of junk.

So, he should use a many cubes gas guzzler for the commute?

Nothing wrong with having a lil jap car to commute. I have a 2007 civic coupe ex to go up and down the 405 for work. Average 33/36 mpg with a heavy foot. I've sat in hours of summer traffic in 90+ weather without the temp neddle moving. Well worth the 18K.
My parents rented a yaris last time they visited. Not that bad for an appliance.

Vash, what did you think of the cluster in the middle of the console? I haven't driven one, but the 3 door coupe with a manual looks like a BLAST.

Yes, I love penis.

I'm going to replace my Hyundai commuter appliance car in a year or two... Yaris, Prius, and Versa are on my radar.

Not to mention a Mustang V6.

Nice to see these small cars taking over the freeway from the super sized SUV tanks.

And I like my penis.

I rented an HHR in OKC about 3 years ago. It was one of the worst rentals I've ever had. Controls all in bad places, nothing obvious, and it was slow, loud and the steering squirly.
