Hunting in Scotland
Anyone interested in hunting is Scotland? There is a wide variety of game including: Red deer (elk), Fallow Buck, Roe Deer, grouse, pheasants, wood pigeon, duck, goose, ptarmigen, rabbit, Blue hare, woodcock, etc. all open during October.
I have been doing this for over 25 years and it is some of the finest hunting in the world. All of this is on private estates so numbers are controlled and high quality is maintained. I can work out a package price, which will be the least expensive if we all decide to do the same activities. For example: Leave the US on Saturday, arrive on Sunday. Settle in the hotel. Monday, walkup pheasant, rabbit, hare, woodcock, wood pigeon over dogs. Tuesday, red deer stalking Wednesday, driven pheasants or grouse, duck flight in the early evening Thursday, Fallow buck stalking Friday, walkup pheasants, duck flight or goose hunt, with dogs Saturday, optional day, more stalking or wing shooting Sunday, return to States A package like this would be about $6000 US per shooter. If you have someone you would like to bring along that would not be shooting just observing, their cost would be about $2500 US. Anyone who does not what to go afield a particular day will be able to partake of numerous sightseeing adventures. From castles to historic towns and cities, museums, etc. Airfare is not included. But ghillies, gun permits (for importation), ammunition and transportation to the hunting venues, hotel and breakfast and dinner are included. Let me know as soon as possible as prime estates fill up quickly. This would require a 50% deposit (non refundable) before the middle of May. Up to 10 or 12 shooters can be accomidated easily, more will require an increase in logistics, but is totally doable. I will post some pictures later today.

It sounds really interesting, however I wonder about the decision to have a bunch of PPOT personalities near each other with loaded firearms.

I know what some of my clients pay to go on much less exotic hunts and $6000 is an absolute bargain. I may talk to my brother about this.
Just out of curiosity what is involved in gun import/permits? Sounds really cool.

First, you must obtain a US Customs clearance form for your firearm from the US Customs office close to you. Keep this and guard it from loss. Second I will send you a UK Customs form that once filled out I will send to the UK with a broker friend of mine. He will make sure your firearms are not held up in UK Customs and provide you the exit paperwork to allow you to leave the UK with your firearm. It may sound like a lot, but it really is all some very simple paperworked filed with the right people. I've never had an issue in all these years with this.

Hunting English men on their estates is very bad form, and not to be tolerated.
But on Scottish owned estates it is encouraged.

I hunted in Scotland once, a couple nights in Edinburgh, looking for women, I think the name of the street with the pubs was Rose St. I really like that town.

RPKESQ:
Which estates have you hunted on? All: Seriously, if you get chance to go hunt in Scotland, DO IT! Expensive? Sure, but it's the experience of a lifetime! Cheers, Paul.

I have been on almost all the good estates in my time in Scotland. Some of the best times have been on these estates: Atholl Estates Swinton Estate Netherwood Estate Novar Estate Whitfield Estate Wester Ross Estate Corrybrough Estate Bywell Estate Tulchan Estate Strathmore Estate Invercauld Castle Ballochneck Estate Some estates have changed hands through the year and have become better or worst as the new owners decide. I have very good friends that keep me abreast of current conditions and quality.
