when spoons get lonely...................
i gave my hk 9mm compact robared night sighted spoon away to my younger son who passed his azccw course with a score of 100/100 on the writtian/practical tests.
i had owned that from when they first were introduced years ago. original owner. many many flawless rds downrange. became kind of like part of the family. ya know eat all my meals with it, traveled with it, hiked with it. a real amigo. anyway the other day i heard these noises coming from my spoon safes. WTF? as i got closer the noise became clearer.................all my spoons were "WAILING" in sorrow after missing their friend since he went away up to the northland to protect my spawn. me being me, felt real bad for my spoons and was upset their feelings being hurt. after work today i decided to cheer them up. theres a muy grande fiesta going on tonight in the spoon safes because a NEW KUZZIN showed up and moved right on in lak he owned da place. i introduce mr. compact .45 tactical ![]() |

already got serpa holster for it, hk thread protector ordered and on the way, and night sights ordered and on the way.
just could not believe the size of this in comparison to my old hk uspc 9mm. the .45 is not that many grams heavier than the 9mm compact and less than an inch longer because of threaded barrel. played with one with an awc suppressor on it and it was sweet. very balanced, non obtrusive. my only beeatch about it with suppressor on, is the height of the front sight needs to be higher to clear can. hk tells everyjuan to only use knight suppressors. spoon store dude said that was a bunch of crap, and has never had juan FTF FTE w/a suppressor on them. damn it i gots to go shooting now! monyana over my coffee we tear it down and clean all the packing grease off of it, lubricate the snot out of it........................and then shoot the SNOT OUT OF IT AND BREAK IT IN WITH 200 RDS RAPID FIRE! and then tear it down and see what we find and then clean the hell out of it. |

I'd love to get a threaded barrel for my P7 but they cost about fifty four million gillion dollars and supposedly only 3 people in America are qualified to properly pin a new barrel in a P7 frame.
Nada silencio. ![]() |

the secret to threaded barrels is:
find a spoon that fits and has large production numbers oddballs are a PITA to find barrels for or get one threaded narrow down calibers. me the oddest of the odd are my hk4 barrels in .25 and .32. have seen a suppressed HK4 in .22 but it was a one off PITA. wouldnt even bother with any of my .380s walther or hk4's. so that leaves my mark III/22/45 ruger which i already have a threaded barrel on it for combat wombat matches. 10/22 rugers easily threaded especially since their bull barrels my 9mms m-9 beretta is easy just buy barrel. hk 9mm just buy barrel my .45's. P9S is fairly easy or if i luck out and find 8" target barrel and thread. springfields gonna be tricky i think. and my .30 calibers. now heres where it can get real tricky with different mfgs. and designs as far as having (1) suppressor fit all. im gonna have to lay them all out with gunsmith and come up with universal thread pitch for all of them. so basically a can to fit ruger pistol and 10/22's, a 9mm can, a .45 can, a .30 cal can. (4) cans. that would make me happy and my wallet will hurt alot. Last edited by ODDJOB UNO; 04-30-2010 at 07:52 PM.. |

well got up early this am, made my coffee and off to the bat cave i went, cuz i was on a mission from buddha.
tear hk .45CT down and get all the packing grease off. tools needed: about 30 cotton ear swabs and a shop rag. detailed the hell out of it, and then lubed the hell outta it with MIL-SPEC as per manual. light lube and medium lube. no heavy lube needed. after putting back together a noticeable smoothness effervesced from this fine spoon. it whisperd to me " i am happy and thank you for the new home where i know i will be loved and cherished and ALWAYS CLEANED"(its an OCD THANG). got (3) flavors all ready for blasting. we are gonna ram a bunch of nato rounds thru it 1st, then switch to some fairly decent remington rounds and for the grand finale, some federal hydra-shoks. 200 rds as fast as we can load mags. rapid fire heat it up and see what kind of groups we shoot with the last (2) mags after we let barrel cool down. gonna grab one of my streamlight TLR-3 lights off of my benelli snotgun and play with it and see how it fits on lower frame rail. damn i wish they had the barrel thread protector in stock when i bought it. freeking about banging those threads and in my line of work you learn real fast that ANY BOOGGERED UP THREADS WILL MAKE YER LIFE HELL UNTIL FIXED! i hate taps and dies, always a PITA, never a straight forward fix. canted my blackhawk serpa holster forward this am also. we is ready. did entire function check as per manual. from what i heard from the spoon dude, HK is placing a computer chip in all of their new guns. helps with tracking thru factory and shipping. i guess when they are completed and boxed up for shipment, they scan container and take info down of where each and everyone is being shipped to in the u.s. and then follow up any problems. maybe i should wrap it in aluminum foil???????????? |

what still astounds me is the fact all new spoons are proof fired and the casing saved for furthur down the road criminal ID if used poorly. spoon dude stated no one has been arrested using this technology that he knows of. basically casing is hit by firing pin somewhere on primer. where it hits primer is spoons "SIGNATURE" in the event of using in crime.
now if i was a bad guy i sure as hell wouldnt leave my shell casings. its bad enough leaving a bullet somewheres that it shouldnt be cuz as we all know from MIAMI CSI, emily procter will sashee her sweet lovely tushy right on over to the bullet machine and find out exactly which gun the bullets came from and you will be busted. anyway we had a laugh that somewhere there is a government warehouse FILLED WITH EMPTY SHELL CASINGS! now think about this................if yer a bad guy and use a weapon in a crime, what the hell is emily procter gonna do(aside from sashee her sweet ass around) if you throw an entire box of 1000's of empty shell casings on the ground from various .45 rounds shot from various .45's, that you grabbed from the range???? hmmmm sounds like a lifetime job for her sasheeing her sweet ass for a lifetime of episodes trying to figure out "WHO DUNNED DAT!" |
