Officially A College Grad
Main grad ceremony yesterday and had a Business School Graduation today. Done in 4 years with a BS in Finance from Miami University. Job waiting for me in Chicago when I get home. I don't think I would trade the last four years for anything in the world. Wanted to thank you guys for being the distraction I needed in boring lectures or when I was supposed to be studying for exams.
Off for one last night of debauchery here in Oxford before this fantasy life I have been leading is over. Cheers Gentlemen

Couldn't agree more. Open a 401K or IRA and put something in it every year. If you're employer matches, put in up to the max if you can.

Good job, now get to WORK ; ).
Seriously, it is a great accomplishment. As the years go by you will long for these times, at least I hope??

Add my congrats!
If Pelican had existed when I was in college..., hell, if the internet had existed, I would never have gotten any studying done. Not that I got much done as it was...

Yea, get a job and start paying those taxes. We need your social security and Medicare payments to start right away.

Thanks everyone, I'm getting on my computer for the first time today after driving home and unloading the car.
I'm working for a business services company in their management training program. The job is actually located in the suburbs but I'm going to move to Lincoln Park, Lakeview or Wrigleyville this summer and do the reverse commute. I have partial employer matching on my 401k so I plan to do as much as I can to save for the long term. Unfortunately I'm not getting paid a great deal and Chicago is expensive so I will be running a little leaner than I like in the short term. I'm already longing for the days back. I was able to pretty much do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted, I had the summers off, and a fair bit of money in the bank with my only expense being entertainment. It is going to take a lot of hard work for life to be that good again. I'm already going nuts at the idea that I only have 10 days of vacation next year. I spent 10 days skiing out West this year, not counting the tons of other day trips, concerts and other activities I partook in. Saying goodbye to my friends and leaving driving out of Oxford knowing I wasn't coming back made for a sad cap to a truly bittersweet graduation weekend.

"Miami-Ohio sorority suspended after wild formal By DAN SEWELL Associated Press Writer © 2010 The Associated Press May 11, 2010, 2:12PM CINCINNATI — Miami University of Ohio has suspended a sorority for a year after a lodge owner complained about damage and unruly behavior at a spring formal including guests urinating in sinks, men scrambling over the bar for drinks, and couples caught having sex. The action against the Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women chapter followed a letter of complaint from the lodge owner to the southwest Ohio school about the April 9 event at Lake Lyndsay Lodge, about 30 miles north of Cincinnati." I didn't know you Oxford folks knew how to party!
