Shaun84Targa says....
He is really busy; doesn't mind the time out. But he did catch a movie and recommends "Iron Man II." Now, for some reason, he says stay for the credits.
?????? You tell us if you do and catch his drift. Maybe they used his clothes. |

I took my kids and their friend to see the 10PM show on Sat. I was so tired that I stayed in the car and had a nice nap. Pathetic, I know.

It's worth staying through the credits for many movies, but Iron Man II was definitely worth the extra 5 minutes- I saw it opening day with about ten other folks- and loved it.

Both Iron Man and Iron Man 2 have clips after the credits that allude to future movies. If you are in to the whole super/action hero thing you might understand them. I didn't.

So, it's not anything about Shaun or his products (that was just a WAG on my part). Just something interesting? Can you elaborate?

Thanks. I guess you have to be an Iron Man junkie. I haven't been in a theater in many years.
I don't watch many at home either. Movies aren't nearly as good as they once were. But, I digress. |

Many movies have clips shown post-credits; as the majority of people today don't think they can spare the time to sit through to the end, they're generally a well-kept secret.

I always sit until the very end of the credits, but maybe that's because I live in LA and also end up doing some production. I feel like these people (to varying degrees) contributed to the work so I can sit and watch their names go past. Plus interesting to see how the labor breaks out, especially animation vs. live action infrastructure.
Haven't seen IM2. Didn't see IM1. Did meet Robert Downey Jr. a couple of times though. Brilliant guy, though he is pretty high strung. Evidently he replaced substance abuse with obsessive practice of Jeet Kun Do. Certainly a better choice imho. Last edited by nostatic; 05-10-2010 at 12:13 PM.. |

WOW Milt and I agree on something...there still are some good ones out there..but in general CRAP...Once there was a thing called character development and dialogue...now its FX, blow em up after chasing em around.

IM1 was far better than IM2. IMHO.
![]() I dunno, having a "teaser" for the next Marvel Universe movie in the end credits of another Marvel movie is kinda lame. At least the teaser in IM1 was directly relevant to IM2. Unless, of course, this is setting the stage for IM3. But I don't think it was.

Quote:
In Iron Man 2 Nick Fury tells Tony Stark that he knew Howard Stark much better than Tony ever did, as Howard was one of the founding members of SHIELD. But when was SHIELD founded? And when did Fury join? Was he a young cadet or was he also one of the founding members in the movie universe? Considering that Howard Stark died about 20 years before the events of Iron Man we can assume that SHIELD started before the 80s, and the way Fury talks in the film makes it sound like he was there when Howard sent Tony to boarding school, which would have been some time in the late 70s. The movie is leaving the door open for Nick Fury to be ageless. We know that Fury will appear in Captain America: The First Avenger, but my sources tell me there are modern sequences that bookend the main WWII story, so it's likely that Fury will appear there. The truth about Nick Fury probably won't be revealed until The Avengers, which Samuel L Jackson has said will be 'his movie.' The Incredible Hulk takes place during the ending of Iron Man 2. The scene at the end where Nick Fury debriefs Tony Stark at a SHIELD safehouse doesn't just have a world map in the background. There's also a brief shot of a TV screen tuned to a news report, and the reporter is coming live from Culver University, which is where Hulk has his daylight battle with General Ross' troops. I imagine this is the same news report that we see in The Incredible Hulk, where local college kids had filmed elements of the battle. That means the Tony Stark appearance in that film happens after the last scene of Iron Man 2. Mjolinir has shown up in New Mexico. This is barely even an Easter Egg, as anyone who sticks around for the post-credits sequence will figure this out, but all throughout the film SHIELD agents talk about problems in the Southwest/New Mexico. In fact Agent Coulson, who has been assigned to babysit Tony Stark, gets pulled from that duty to go to New Mexico and deal with the situation. It turns out that Mjolinir, the hammer that the Norse god Thor wields, has landed in New Mexico. Only the most worthy can pick up Mjolnir (in the comics Captain America is one of the few to ever hold it), so SHIELD is unable to move the weapon and have to cordon off the entire area. This means that the events of next summer's Thor are probably taking place more or less at the same time as the events of the second half of Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk. I am SUCH a geek when it comes to Batman and Iron Man. (And the Punisher- but only in the books thus far.)
