So rolling along on the Freeway near the local landfill, I spy a PU full of yard waste and a covering...a G** D*** 4' x 10' AMERICAN FLAG!!!
F me...I've never wanted to bash into someone as much as then. Pulled alongside...waited till the little sleepy eyed chelongo looked over...flipped him and his buddies off. My spanish isn't good enough to tell them they are a bunch of F'in douches. Its been a couple hours...and I'm still F'in pissed!!!

Oh, come to think of it...there is another time I felt this way...first time I saw this pic.

This reminds me of a thread a few weeks back when a fallen police officer body was covered with an American flag. I didn't post because I felt awful for the officer, his family, and his fellow officers.

However I was taught that the flag was NEVER to touch the ground... regardless.

And somewhere I recently saw a huge American flag draped behind a podium and there were pictures or posters pinned to it randomly.

And, yes, the flag on the policeman's body was very inappropriate. That's why they fold the flag draped on a coffin before the coffin is lowered.

I guess the defamation of the flag is getting more creative.

Jim, I only wish you could have gotten a pic. The Mexican community here in the US is taking backward steps every day. It might be time for the long time legal residents of Mexican heritage to grab the bull by the horns and take the point on all this crap.

I know for sure that if I had a surname that suggested I might be from south of the border that I would be shown some racism and discrimination at this point in society. I'd want to improve my situation by standing up for the USA, not crying about treatment of illegals and not flying a foreign flag.

Those guys are idiots no doubt about it. But to assume they're Mexican that's ignorant too, what if those dudes were from Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, etc... You're bashing the Mexicans just because they look "Mexican"?

I don't mean to stop and ask for birth place before slapping them but you're getting all riled with the Mexicans. My understanding is that a good percentage of Illegal Aliens are from other countries than Mexico...

So, you make a point and I think we can accept it. Now, to throw some more generalizations out there, my personal experience with non Mexican South and Central Americans has been quite a bit more positive.

Nevertheless, this act reflects on what we perceive to be the illegal immigration problem. If trash hauling flag desecraters happened to be here legally, it won't make much difference in the current sentiment.

As I pointed out earlier in this thread, all Latinos from the Americas suffer from these actions. It shouldn't necessarily be lowryder's being incensed. If I were brown, I'd be more incensed!

The US has a huge problem no doubt about it.. I see the values and principles of the American people eroded day by day by the foreign cultures forcibly getting in the country. Unfortunately you're getting the worst of the worst in terms of educated people.

Here in Canada the government is getting some heat because they're preferring the Asian immigrants than Latino. I don't have a problem there as they more educated. Why not getting the best as immigrants? Anyway, not quite the same as in the thread as the people I mentioned are legally entering the country.

I really don't envy the social problem those uneducated people are creating in the US.

Not an easy problem to fix.. Can't live with/without them.

I employ people who LIVE in Mexico. They are also UNION employees...NOT SEIU, not UFCW, not UFW. They are SMWIA, as am I. They're making good grip. My rage comes from giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they're naturalized. But if they've gone thru the classes, were they sleeping???

I did not refer to anyone in particular, just my thoughts after reading the full thread.

Here's something to think:
In US seems like the "Mexicans" are a devaluated asset as they're the ones doing the janitorial, cooking, etc. labours and probably for less than the official wages... Here in Calgary (don't know about other cities) all those jobs are filled with Filipino and Chinese. It is extremely rare to see a white boy flipping burgers. I only see white kids working in the mall, ie my nephew.

Unfortunately it doesn't have to be non English speaking people who these things...I went into a McDonald's several years ago and noticed that the flag they were displaying from the flagpole was tattered, the ends were frayed and the colors were faded. It was a disgrace. When I mentioned it to the very Caucasian manager, he looked at me like I was crazy. A week later they were still flying that same flag. After an article was run in the local paper it was finally replaced.

A few weeks ago, I was at my kids school for an award ceremony. Before starting the program they did the pledge of allegiance and then the National Anthem. I stood, removed my cover and placed my hand over my heart. Though most everyone stood, several men failed to remove their headgear. In fact, I only saw one other older gentleman remove his cover. Later in the program, they had any veterans in the audience stand to be recognized, The older gentleman and myself both stood up. After the program, I told him I knew he was veteran because we were the only people I saw who took off their caps. He said he had seen the same thing.

Don't even get me started on sporting events. As a spectator, you cant shut your mouth and stop walking to your seat for all of the 3 or 4 minutes it takes for our National Anthem
