Frequent Flier question
Finally got enough miles for a free flight, and now I have to cancel or reschedule.
What can I expect when I call the ticket counter? (My flight was scheduled for about two weeks from now) (Delta)

They may charge you a fee to put the miles back in your account.

Not sure about Delta but United will let you reschedule the ticket with the exact same routing for no charge, but they will charge you ($50 or $100 IIRC) to put the miles back in your account.
The airlines have issued so many miles they will never be able to redeem them all for flights. Expect fees to use the miles to increase over time. In other words, use the miles as opposed to save them for retirement, etc.

I was looking at UAL business class flights PDX-CDG and it is 210K miles/passenger.
