how many TVs do you have?

And where are they? I was driving into work this am and heard a uVerse commercial talking about recording 4 different programs and being able to see them in the kitchen, bedroom, etc. How many freaking tv sets do people have?

BRPORSCHE 05-25-2010 09:30 AM

I only have two. One in the living room, one in the bedroom to watch the news at night.

It's insane where people have tv's now. They are freaking everywhere! My parents have only had two tv's my entire life, so I don't quite understand the complex.

Now computer's are a different story.

One. I live in loft with a bedroom, a bathroom, and then one big room... it's in the big room. No TV in my bedroom, not now, not ever.

RPKESQ 05-25-2010 09:34 AM

Are we speaking only of traditional TV's? Then I have just 1 in the study.

But I do at various times watch TV on my Ipod, net-book, phone and various laptop and desktop PC's.

I spend about 30-45 minutes a day on average watching various news and movies. Some times weeks go by without any TV time at all.

3 , living room, family room, and in my garage, wifey wants one in the bedroom so it will soon be 4 , anything to keep the wifey happy

2. One is in the bedroom, and has been turned on for probably a total of an hour in the last year. It's not even HD! We're considering getting Uverse and having pay TV for the first time in years (probably a decade for me). Mostly for Speed and the World Cup...and because I want more than 1Mbps internet.

We have a rather large 5 bdrm home and have 2 TVs. The main TV is a rear projection 60" unit that's in the downstairs family room. The second is an old 27" tube TV that exists for PS2 and Wii and lives upstairs in kids loft area.

We know folks who have a TV in every bedroom, the garage, and kitchen. Crazy.

SonI CRT 20 incher that is 24 years old in the MBR

Our Bedroom.

Family Room. 67 inch which is monopolized by the kids.

Kids Playroom. 39 inch that they almost never use. Room is actually my home theatre but will not be used as such for another year or two and then will get a 100 in screen.

Home Office.

Had in the kids bedrooms but got rid of them.

Outside entertainment area, has outdoor kitchen and fireplace.

One 46" LCD in the living room.

For the rest of the house I have a different type of High Definition - it's called real life.

I have one, but it's analog, so it's useless, as I don't subscribe to a cable service.

masraum 05-25-2010 10:07 AM

Living room and bedroom.

But where the 4 would be good is when you've got 2 kids, a 10 yo, a 15 yo, and mom and dad. That way you can have MTV TRL, barney, football and desperate housewives all going at once (or whatever fits...)

sammyg2 05-25-2010 10:12 AM

One in the family room and one in each bedroom.

DSL is 6Mbps in Houston. Uverse is 10-40, depending on your area. Comcast is now 20-25 Mbps.

I have both COMCAST and a DSL line in the house.

I have a strict "no tv or computers in the bedroom" policy. We have one TV, we watch DVDs, F1, Food Network, Military Channel, and Palladia. The other visual diversion in the apartment are laptops (though those have time limits for the boy). Beyond that, there is a keyboard/synthesizer, a drum kit, and art supplies (currently he's into origami). And lots of books (for the boy - he is a voracious reader).

Pazuzu 05-25-2010 10:26 AM

DSL is limited by location ;) I'm stuck at 1 here, 3 at the new house. Uverse has 12 (I think) for the same price as my current 1...
