Great. My son nearly landed in the ditch this morning on his way to school whilst being overtaken by one of these. Superb car.

The roll, in fact, is not real -- it is CGI, confirmed by folks up the street in the Marketing dpt. The first ad released with a no-name driver. Then Schumi joined the Mercedes F1 team, and they added him into the final ad.

Fun ad. MB has come a long way in marketting, IMHO.

Pretty car too - I've seen a few up close - the satin brown exterior finish is stunning.

That's pretty cool, but if it was real the doors might come off. I read when it's upside down for a certain amount of time explosive charges blow the doors off as a safety feature so the occupants can get out.

Damn that's a cool car. The sound is pure sex, MB has been doing a great job of exhaust tuning on the AMG and Black models.

Great cinematography!

The MB dealer near me has one (I had to take my SLK up there for a routine checkup the other day). Drool.

AMG stuff isn't even in the same league as base Mercedes stuff. Not even close. For starters double the price. But the performance numbers are astonishing on virtually all their models. The SLS is sexy as anything in person.

Edit: IIRC the asking price was about $190k. Yes a lot, but consider it's less than half of a Carrera GT and not too far off of a GT3.

It's 10 seconds, so if the barrel roll was real, the doors wouldn't blow off.

But that would be hilarious if he was hauling ass upside down and both doors just blew off.
