Waxed boy racer today!!

I had just left the office and was sitting 1st at a light when boy ricer racer pulls up next to me. You know the type, coffee can exhaust tip, altezzas, k&n, loud muffler, etc... I really didn't give a crap, but I needed to get over before the next light. I floored the Prius out of the gate and got up to about 58mph in a 55, comfortably switched lanes and set the cruise control for the last quarter mile. I see boy ricer racer in the rear view screaming up on my tail and at the last moment run high to make the pass at about 70. Good job, man.

If only the 2 police cruisers had not been caught at the light ahead, but rather in route our direction.

I'm still laughing. Boy ricer racer waxed a Prius in his mind when things couldn't have been further from the truth.

I'll probably get flamed, but I don't often speed. Excessive acceleration is a totally different issue. But it's a Prius, who would write a ticket when you drive one of those?

BTW, it has 120K and I aim to kill it.

I always said that you could be racing the daylights out of a 1200 cc VW bug and no one would notice.

Last I heard of him, he was rowing into second back there. Well, up to the point when he blows my doors off.

He had a line of cars behind, as did I, which had to blend sooner or later, turn or collide. I choose sooner as I was a merger.

I certainly wouldn't have done to race boy what I'd do under normal pretenses, but this is one of the few places left here where you can get up to speed, maybe even a couple mph over, and not have bicyclists, pedestrians, or general traffic disrupting the ability to get up to speed.

I'm not impressed with either of the two vehicle's performance, but his was laughable.

Looking at your list of cars, "excessive acceleration" is not a possible ticket for you.

As a fellow Land Cruiser owner, I can attest to that.

Matt, I enjoyed your story... made me smile.

You know what's cool? Sometime you leave the office about that same time again, y'all may be head-to-head at that light again.

And you can roll down your window, get his attention, and tell him, "It's on riceboy."

Did the kid flash his blinkers at you when he passed? That's the sign that he just "took you down yo".

What does "flash his blinkers" mean, Mike? There are several ways that could be interpreted.

When you turn your emergency flashers on. You blow past the person that might not actually be racing, even if you think they are, then you flash them to show how superior your given 4 banger economy car is to their given car.

Do you often race Civics?

You start the race by pulling up to them (ideal while traveling 50mph down the road), then you honk twice quickly, which means "I'm ready to show you how masculine I am by racing your Civic", then when the other person looks over to see WTH someone is honking at them, you honk one last time and lay the hammer down. Ideally, you gain a car length or more on the person who is wondering WTH is going on, then you flash your emergency lights, so the person can really wonder WTH is happening.

Do this a few times a night on the freeway and you too can be a street racing gawd.
