Anyone here who travels a lot using Sprint for cell service?
Just wondering what Sprint's coverage/service is like.
We're with Verizon, but fed up with paying extra for everything.

Sprint works most everywhere in the U.S. for me. Used to work even better when I had a regular phone. (Have Blackberry now).

Of the 4 major US carriers, it is in the most financial trouble. A lot of industry prognosticators aren't sure they will make it. Too many other solid choices to pick them over Verizon, T-Mobile or even AT&T.

I had trouble with terrible service with Sprint in Connecticut. It was fine here in Philly and most of New Jersey. We left for Verizon last month. Sprints customer service has been on a downward spiral since they merged with Nextel. Sprint may be a little cheaper, but you get what you pay for.
You don't work for the government or military by chance? Verizon gave us an 18% discount off the monthly bill and 25% off all accessories. They give discounts to many other companies as well. It is worth asking Verizon if you are available for a discount.

Splint works good for me throughout the midwest. Even from the twin cities to bizmark nd.
Try verizon in Ames Iowa. Good luck with that. You would have better luck with a ham radio and a coat hanger antenna hello cqcqcq can I get a freakin phone patch please. Dude. For real. Yeah they outsourced the entire network to Ericsson, a Swedish company. And they have laid almost everyone off. But still. Sprint is the best u can get in the Midwestern states Last edited by slakjaw; 06-19-2010 at 05:19 PM.. |

My previous employer went from Sprint to Verizon - huge upgrade. Sprint works well in major city centers and not so much anywhere else. I travel overseas as well so I needed a GSM based phone this one being ATT. They also suck compared to Verizon.
