I've noticed inventory improving, but not so much on prices. And with our new sales tax hike, I'd rather shop by mail and pay for shipping. Scottsdale Gun Club chewed me out recently for shooting Wolf .45ACP. Turns out the jacket is bi-metal and stuck to their magnet.

Indoor ranges generally ban any kind of ammo with steel in the bullet, as it can damage their backstop. I've shot Wolf for years and no one said anything. Two weeks ago the range officer stopped me and took a magnet to one round and it stuck. Jacket is copper, but I guess there's some steel in there somewhere. Luckily, I had brought some Aguila with me and it has no steel in it. This happened to me once at the NRA Range too, but I was shooting some stranger's rifle and ammo.

Friends don't let friends shoot Wolf ammo.
I guess I would through an AK or Hi-Point but otherwise I think it does more 'damage' to the firearm than 'normal' ammo. I think there's an advantage to copper vs steel compared to steel vs steel. Jim

yes rick friends dont let friends shoot wolf ammo. even hk's forum sticky alerts owners NOT TO USE WOLF AMMO.
hell i would buy cabelas reloads before that crap. as a fellow cheap ass i to must yearn and seek cheap ammo due to different /multiple spoons. fiocchi and magtech have been VERY COMPLIANTand CLEAN to all my semi autos. the most biggest PITA have always bean .380's and my hk4's and my walther just eat that magtech up at 90gr's. so i saw the sale at SGC and bought a 1000 right off the pallet for like 287.00. now when in hell am i gonna shoot a 1000 freaking .380's???????? despite having (4) to feed? stash man stash for aluminum helmet day. actually it means getting 200rds thru the rest of them to break in. ammo to go actually cheaper than j&g up in prescott. gonna buy some bulk hornaday leverevoultions in .357 and .44 mag, some bulk fiocchi in .38 special jacketed soft points(hunting-legal) and some bulk .357 fiocchi with jacketed soft points(hunting legal). i dont run lead due to fouling and giant PITA cleanup. the only FMJ's i buy are .308 and .30 carbine for blast-o-ramas. finding .30 carbine soft points is a royal PITA to use for hunting(carbine great fun deer gun). remember getting caught shooting with FMJ's hunting is a BIG NO BUENO! also until rains hit shooting anywhere in state right now is illegal unless involved in hunting(what season? aside from varmints, better have hunting license and soft points or yer busted) only legal place to blast is the RANGE! and they mean it! i got 200 .38 spec and .357's down the pipe on the marlin lever a couple of weekends ago w/younger son. marlin worked flawless right outta the box even mixing matching .38's and .357 multiple flavors. last weekend sunday blasted 200 .44 mags out of other marlin stainless lever and had yer general cranky yucky clunky sucky grumpy feed issues with lever stroke not wanting to feed ANY flavor weight or grain bullet. federal/fiocchi/ winchester/rem nothing really was smooth for my tight tolerances. so since i cant stand a clunky yucky lever action and have no tolerance for such piss poor behavior, its going to the doctor for some feed issues. this despite me being a nice loving tender owner and giving it a new chrome silicone mag tube spring(uber zoomy never take a set when left loaded) and a uber zoomy red anodized alum mag tube follower that replaces the prone to breakage POS plastic mag tube follower. sometimes when yer even really really nice to yer spoons they back talk ya and ya just gotta beeaatch slap them back into submission. gonna get this clunky lever .44 worked on asap. the dr. has my "K" frame smith .357 done and just gonna swap him and have him address feed issue and do a trigger job on it. tore it apart when i got home and really found nothing that jumped out at me to indicate where lever is binding except where lever tang meets trigger group when closed. maybe some fine stoning will do the trick. butttt......i think im gonna have the doctor order from marlin the big loop lever which is only sold to a FFL gunsmith(dont ask why) and save some bucks over buying wildwestguns.com 149 buck lever. if ya have never shot a big loop lever yer missing out. wayy easier to jack rounds and if using in winter the oem lever is a PITA with gloves on. so we may just ditch the small lever for big loop lever. buy a marlin any flavor while ya still can before remington takes over. gonna be worth some bucks. ya got until end of year before marlin closes doors and moves from north haven connutticutt to who knows where???? ilion new york or north carolina and they will now be marlins built by remington??? WTF?

Those stockpiling ammo at recent inflated prices were betting that the world was going to end . . . in the next six months. Silly. Same with those loading up on AR's at inflated prices six months ago.

I just kept on keepin' on through the whole mess, casting my own, reloading my own, never running out of anything. I've got plenty of reloadable brass, primers, and powder. Never had to scrounge and stock up, much less buy at those inflated prices. And my bullets have always been free...

supply/demand + obama-mani= goofy ass ammo prices. yeah dealers trying to unload stock they were sitting on so they dont get stuck with aluminum foil stash of a 100K rounds of goofy .380/and other assorted flavors.
knew it when wally worlds shelves were stocking up and their prices had dropped. back to a super secret stealth tip FYI that this old timer taught me about cleaning spoons after blastin the hell out of them. when using lead rounds finish session with copper jacketed(20 will do) to blow lead fouling out. after just shooting a couple rounds on new barrel, let cool at bench/range/pick up bed. then swab barrel, then run brush down 2X's per round. swab bore again til clean. then wet swab with hoppes, and slide down bore. leave bore wet. then smear some "JB's BORE PASTE" which is a micro micro grain abrasive, on yer swab and swab the hell out of barrel. you will be amazed at how much crap comes out. then smear a lil more on another swab after crap comes out and run that swab say 20X's. then follow with say CLP light lubricant. your GROUPS WILL BE TIGHTER! try this even on yer pistoles semi or wheel spoon. I IS A BELIEVER! i do this to all my spoons cuz i can, cuz thats how I ROLL(GOGARIZM) and because I CAN and ACCURACY SPEAKS! i especially do this after shoving very very HOT MEGA SPENDY INSANE DEAD NUTZ ACCURATE CUSTOM BLACK MOLY BULLETS DOWN MY McMILLIAN .338 WINCHESTER MODEL 70 26" barrel ELK VAPORIZER. lever actions need ALL THE HELP IN THE WORLD due to inherent design flaws ie. barrel band hold mag tube to barrel, forends touching barrel, crappy triggers etc. ask me how i know all about this STOOPID -POO!

J&G takes down your drivers license info and it's in AZ, so I have to pay sales tax. Check out AIM Surplus. They have smoking deals on east bloc calibers and sometimes on NATO ones too.
I'm good on .223 for a while, but I'm down below 1000 rds. on .45ACP. I have four .45's and all are great shooters and occasional carry guns. So I like to keep them well fed. I don't know what the fuss is with Wolf. So what if it breaks an extractor? I'll buy another one for a tiny fraction of the money I saved by buying Wolf. I had a good 10k rounds through one of my P220's before I ever got a FTE. That extractor from SIG was $26. And I wasn't shooting Wolf back then. I carry much hotter loads than I usually shoot with at the range. Anyway, once I get my garage sorted out, a reloading operation will commence.

I won't profess to having "seen it coming", but I do have bricks of primers and cans of powder that are older than my college age kids. I'm kind of a pack rat, buying big lots of this stuff when it's on sale. Some of it I never use, and wind up bringing it to the gun show. That, and there was never a rush on my favorite propellant - black powder.
