Would you rather be a passenger in a car....

With a driver who is stoned? Or a driver who is drunk? Let's assume the intoxication levels are similar.

Why?

Duuuuuuuddddddeeeeee......stoned drives typically concentrate....drunkies are easily distracted and slow to react.

Follow up...give 10 dudes a keg, and another 10 a big bag of weed....what happens?

Stoned. Hands down.

Stoners drive slowly and carefully for the most part.

Drunks, not so much.

What was that movie where the guy drops a joint in his lap while driving and then uses his beer to put out the fire?

during my misspent youth..i may have partaked. one time i was driving my nitrous oxide, hot rod camaro down the street. i kept seeing something fly around and flap in front of windshield. i thought it was a fluttering Bat or something. i asked my friend mark, "what is that flying around out there?" he replied, "you dumbass..that's my hand!"..he was waving his hand in front of my face to see if i was awake. i was apparently driving down the road, very very slowly.

Not even a question. Stoned.

A drunk driver goes off the road and kills people.

A stoned driver goes along just fine, but he's so into the eagles song on the radio, that he forgets his exit.

Legendary flat tracker Bart Markel is said to have toked just a wee bit before a heat. The guy could fly on his Harley.

Maybe he thought he was going too slow and better pick up the pace.

Studies have shown that a motorcycle rider on a technical closed course can do better after one beer. After 2, they are impaired. At 3, they are terrible and beyond that, they are dangerous to themselves and all others.

I'll ride with someone that has had a couple and only a couple. I can't remember the last time I rode with someone who was stoned. I can't remember the last time I rode with someone who was stoned.

remember that eduational class you could take to demonstate the affects of booze on driving? they make you drive a roadcourse with obstacles, then have a few drinks..so on and so forth. looked like fun. i never got a chance to try it.

Legend has it Richard Petty did that, and got faster and faster with every drink. He was learning the course...

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Stoned. Hands down. There is nowhere near the loss of coordination and inhibitions, and nowhere near the increase in reaction time and aggressiveness that comes with being drunk.

Alcohol-intoxicated drivers are impaired.

Marijuana-high drivers......might be better drivers, and might be safer drivers, than those who are "straight." So, in order of preference:

1) High
2) Straight
3) Drunk

Is the stoned/drunk/tripping driver of the car a woman? If so, I'd like to opt out, please.
