I think all their performance numbers are based on computer analysis.....good luck getting enough traction to achieve them LOL
personally I think its pretty silly, the 4130 chromoly will be strong but heavy, sounds like it'll weigh a few tons.......

The real question is....will that engine fit in the front of my 944?

Well, it might be faster than a Mustang, but it will never keep up with a well set up and well driven 944 through the twisties...

i think maybe i hit a nerve a couple of weeks ago when i (correctly) informed him a well balanced & driven 944 would beat a sled 'stang in the twisties.
sorry if the truth hurts a little

He's just sour...
My comment was more on the fact that I don't think this thing will make production... The math just doesn't add up... I'm sure it will be a helluva car if they do make them tho... |

Those numbers are estimates at best....
483 km/h..... Yeah right... Claims, promises, predictions..., I'll believe it when I see it. |

If it really delivered 2000hp it's top end would, in all practicality, be limitless.
Just 20 years ago that was nitro funny car type power, and they were trapping at 290+ ET's back then. |

There are lots of cars out there (most are customs) in the 4-digit range for HP numbers these days. Even a few that are over 2,000. It's just stupid - for practical purposes you can't get anything over about 400 to hook up with street tires and even with R-compounds you're lucky to get anything over about 600-700 to hook up. So you'll have your $400,000 cool-looking car that can't do anything except roast sets of $2,000 tires every lap. What's the point of that?
Cars with that much power require very precise driving skill to be really quick. That's just a pointless amount of power and I don't see how it translates into anything other than straight-line performance (the Bugatti Veyrons of the world) and bragging rights. At those levels of speed it's more about tire degradation and aerodynamics anyway. The attainment of top-end speed by the addition of sheer brute force has reached its practical limit - which is in the mid-200 mph range. It is a pretty cool looking design though. But I question the claims being made. There's more to being able to create a REAL 200+ mph supercar than just force-inducting a big engine, slapping a lightweight CF body on and doing a little wind tunnel testing. Truth be told for that money I'd much rather have a Koneigseig or (several) TVRs. Oh, and FWIW a 944 most certainly can kick the snot out of a Rustang in the twisties. I would love to post the story of how my 951 absolutely walked a brand new Cobra on the TRC New Year's run a few years ago. At the time my 951 was only lightly modded and the suspension was freshened stock - no serious upgrades at all. And I'm a decent (though certainly not "great") driver - so I don't think it was necessarily that either. The guy with the Cobra was plenty mad, and humiliated. He was faster on the straights, but it didn't do him much good.

It will never be as exotic as a 928, and there is a very long list of failed "super cars" that promised to be the next amazing thing and never made it to fruition. The Dagger has a spot waiting for it on that list.

Well, Zora's Cerv II was 0-60 in 2.8 with only 500HP, but hell, that was was 1964.

This car looks like what I imagined the proposed mid-engined Vette would look like. The rumor which was passed around with validity the summer before GM failed.

Looking at the times for CMC and Spec 944 the last time they were both at Sears Point on the same day, times for the CMC cars were 4 to 5 seconds a lap faster than the 944s. In fact, the last place qualifier in CMC was 4 seconds faster than the spec 944 pole. CMC2, where Paul's car would fit, was about 4 seconds a lap faster. Remember, Sears Point is a technical track, where the higher horsepower of the V8s would not be as big of an advantage. Quote:

Here's a pic of the Cerv II...Mid-engined, 4WD, body was designed by Larry Shinoda...Again, 1964.

, ecom, roux2 . . . spot on.Why do I imagine PWD laughing his ass off over the idea that God & Ferry did not rest after 1973, but rather waited until after the 944 . . . err. . . 951 . . . err . .slightly modified 951 . . err . . slightly more modified 951, and skilled driver . . .mod'd enough so that it could beat a stock 21st century Stange. . ?

Basic 3D model = easy. Production ready supercar = hard. Betcha this is the last we see of the Dagger.
