Talked to a guy with a 62 T-Bird at a show yesterday that was running a BMW turbo diesel . He won the race in Ct. I think he said & had the trophy sitting on the car.
Most people figured it was a POS because they didn't know what it was. He said I was the only one that knew about it so he gave me a t-shirt. I would love to do this. |

I've said this before:
People's opinion of LeMons is either "that's so cool" or "you're an idiot". No middle ground... I kinda get the feeling from the, *lack of replies*, how this crowd feels... ![]() KT

LeMons is a great pastime. You get to race (the big draw). Wrench on a car...a lot (try running a $500 car for 24hours). You meet all kinds of fun loving people of similar interests. Did I mention you get to race ? All of this is pulled together by a group of fun-loving organizers. If you haven't been to one, you should go and at least watch. It is incredibly fun to participate in LeMons, ChumpCar, and UsedCarRacing events.

Yeah, but you're a cool idiot
![]() Seriously looks like a whole lotta fun. If it makes you feel any better, when I was racing an SCCA improved touring 240Z, I overheard some Formula Atlantic driver sarcastically comment when we got the call to the grid "Well...here comes the rolling junkyard." Sure , my car was no $100K+ open wheel effort, but I guarantee I was having just as much fun as him, if not more so.

Nice job! Having lived through two Chumpcar 24 hour events and gearing up for Portland again I definately think it's cool. Our effort is a bit more driver oriented than junker car given we have a serious wrench on the team who maintains the car mostly himself and it's more of an arrive and drive for the rest of us who all race together in vintage Formula Vees when not doing Chumpcar.
A 24 hour race with a team is a whole different experience and I've enjoyed every minute of it. Even the drive from Spokane to Seattle after the race with no sleep.
