And I felt good about polishing the plastic lenses on a couple of cars yesterday. Serious work!

(on a serious note: Um, I'm guessing airborne magnesium isn't that great for you - maybe a mask or respirator?)

Yes, Aluminum is the primary metal so you are correct. I got stuck in "Mag wheels" = Magnesium and that's what came out of the keyboard.

According to the Fuchs website, wheels contain an alloy of AlSi1MgMn; So I did a quick read about the synergistic effects of heavy metal toxicity - in one study exposure to one heavy metal, such as mercury or aluminum only killed 1 rat in 100, but exposing the rats to both aluminum and mercury killed 100 in 100. Yipes. Another article indicated that Magnesium Malate can remove Aluminum from the body, so he has that going for him...

Aluminum or Magnesium, either through inhalation or skin absorption is probably better to avoid.

Inhalation and ingestion of aluminum are linked to early onset of Alzheimer's. Wear a mask, I'd recommend an N95 dust mask, they're made by North, 3M and others and you can get them at HD, Loews, etc.
